Careers expert Rachel Schofield loves asking awkward questions and pushing people to get curious about what they are not seeing, not saying and not doing. A former journalist with a nose for a great story, a keen sense of humour and a low BS threshold (“Let your dreams be your wings!” … yeah, right) she helps clients from senior leaders to miserable middle managers and parent returners to stop going round in circles and design and build the career they actually want. She worked for the BBC for 20 years as a journalist and news presenter, predominantly on the organisation's award-winning 24-hour rolling news channel. She’s walked the messy, confusing, exhilarating walk of career change herself, qualifying as a career and personal development coach and gaining accreditation with the International Coaching Federation. She has turned her journalist’s passion for challenging questions onto the world of work, helping individuals think creatively, embrace the discomfort of change, and figure out what fulfilling and impactful careers look like for them in our rapidly changing world. Through her coaching, workshops and speaking, she helps people become effective and confident drivers of their own career development, and address both the practical barriers and behavioural patterns that hold them back. A skilled communicator and facilitator, she also delivers workshops and group coaching for leadership programmes in complex multinational organisations for DEI consultancy, Shape Talent. Her work has been featured in The Telegraph, Stylist magazine, Good Housekeeping, Psychologies and on podcasts including Slo Mo with Mo Gawdat and the Power Hour with Adrienne Herbert. She lives in London with her husband and two teenage daughters
