Dr. Rishi Raj is an acclaimed author and traveler, renowned for his extensive work on Indian patriotism, culture, and travel narratives. Currently serving as an Additional General Manager at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, he has journeyed through all 36 states and union territories of India and visited 14 countries across Asia, North America, Europe, Australia, and Africa. His deep passion for exploration and storytelling shines through his writings, which seamlessly blend personal experiences with a celebration of India’s spirit.
Dr. Rishi Raj made his literary debut in 2012 with कैलाश दर्शन - कुछ यादें, कुछ बातें, a memoir of his pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar, later published in English as Heights of Faith: Kailash (2014). Since then, he has authored several celebrated books, including अतुल्य भारत की खोज (2015) — later published in English as Patriotic Pilgrimage of India (2018), देशभक्ति के पावन तीर्थ (2017) — later published in English as The Battlefield Diaries (2025), एक भारतीय की जापान यात्रा (2019), भारत के महान स्वतन्त्रता सेनानी (2019), and कारगिल - एक यात्री की जुबानी (2022) — later published in English as Kargil - A Saga of Sacrifice & Heroism (2023). His contributions have been honored with the prestigious Rahul Sankrityayan Award by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
Dedicated to educating and inspiring the younger generation, Dr. Rishi Raj has also created illustrated story books on Kargil war heroes — Captain Saurabh Kalia, Captain Vikram Batra (PVC), Captain Anuj Nayyar (MVC), Rifleman Sanjay Kumar (PVC), Subedar Yogendra Singh Yadav (PVC), Captain Manoj Pandey (PVC), and Captain Vijyant Thapar (VrC) — in both Hindi and English. He has also authored illustrated works on historic events such as सुनो बच्चो जलियाँवाला बाग की कहानी (2019), सुनो बच्चो कारगिल युद्ध की कहानी (2025), and Heroes of Kargil (2025), all being widely appreciated in schools.
In addition, he has produced 518 short films showcasing India’s rich heritage, stories of war heroes and freedom fighter available on his YouTube channel Exploring India with Rishi.
