Samantha Ross is an author and scriptwriter, who left the cold climes of Melbourne, for the glamorous, yet remote country town of Port Douglas. She is the author of a satirical memoir, Sunshine. Her upcoming work, Possible Springs, is Samantha's debut fiction novel, set to be published by Penguin Random House in June, 2026. New York Times bestselling author and creator of the Dexter series, Jeff Lindsay, commented on the novel's impending launch, by quoting; Ross's debut blends small town mystery, romance, and magical realism into an intoxicating, spell-binding mix. Jimny is an unforgettable character. I loved it. A self-proclaimed jokester at heart, Samantha travelled the globe working in the circus of nightclubs. It was here that she became emersed in the music world, first singing on Sergent Slick’s ‘Gotta Have Hope’, which was featured in Sydney 2000 midnight fireworks on New Years Eve. Then take two decades of living within the magical bushland and ochre plains of Far North Queensland, and a youth spent among some of the world’s greatest rock bands. Add a medium grandmother, and the inspiration was born. Samantha quotes she has never not known about the world of the paranormal, and has always found the emotive force of music to be a powerful background track for all our lives. And once she moved from Melbourne city to Far North Queensland, it seemed a natural progression to merge all three elements. Luckily, the ancient forests and stark plains that Samantha calls home, provide plenty of material to lead readers on a journey full of atmosphere, trepidation and wonder.
