Sandy was alarmed when a youth at her church clutched a popular ghost storybook. At that point, she felt led to go on a quest to write spirit-filled Young Adult fantasy books. Sandy Solis is a native of Colorado, now living in Green Country, Oklahoma. She is a 3D computer artist and lives on the family ranch. She is married with one daughter.

Sandy and her family experienced the devastation of a tornado in 2006, and she survived cancer a year later. She feels she came from tough pioneers and is a survivor. In her spare time, she enjoys making stained glass, remodeling homes, and shopping for silver jewelry.
