Now, age 63, with two books published and knackered knees and a dodgy heart I am adapting my outdoor adventures to achieve maximum joy and minimum damage. Living Older Bolder and sometimes Colder has become my mantra. Ageing creatively and ageing bravely is more appropriate than ageing gracefully! I love receiving messages from people who have read my books, or posts on Instagram: "Gosh, this resonates so deeply" "You write brilliantly and you're a fantastic person, I'm sure that also shines through in your writing" "You have a talent and such beauty in your words that deserve their place in the world' "I love both books for different reasons, I have relate to both, and both have inspired me to keep getting out in nature for my own cold fix" "Your brilliant writing inspired me to start writing a little myself. I so hope you will continue" My short film, Dear Heart, which I made in 2025 with filmmaker Emily Barnard, is about how I have had to adapt my outdoor adventures after having major heart surgery. My short film, Skinny, which I made with Jo Moseley and Emily Cartigny in 2025 also, tells the inspiring story of one woman reaching out her hand to help her friend fulfil a dream in her early sixties.
