Not to be confused with the excellent US-based author Sarah Warburton, THIS Sarah Warburton is an illustrator of children's books. After studying Illustration at UWE (Bristol), she sprang out-of-the-traps around 1996. Sarah started illustrating for school textbooks, reading resources and reading schemes. It wasn't until 2004 that Sarah began dipping her toes (not literally) into books you may find in a bookshop, first illustrating books like the 'Happy Ever After' series (Tony Bradman) and 'The Rumblewick Letters - My Unwilling Witch' (Hiawyn Oram). She has illustrated MANY books since then! She has been on many long and shortlists for awards and even won a few. More recently, she has illustrated 'Letters to a Monster' (Patrica Forde) and also worked closely with Lu Fraser on animal-based stories: 'One Camel called Doug', 'Mavis the Bravest', 'Basil Dreams Big' and 'Room for Us All', with more to come! Sarah has spent most of her life in only 2 places - Anglesey, North Wales, where she grew up and describes it as 'having her heart', and her adopted home city, Bristol, which she describes as 'having her slippers' Sarah loves anything that makes her laugh, but also loves a secret cry. She loves TV, magical stories, objects that have randomly have little eyes and often gets stuck in a loop of funny Instagram reels. She can be found illustrating and procrastinating at the bottom of her garden in Bristol in a cobwebby office. She is often annoyed by her elderly dog, Ivor and occasionally by her husband and 2 children.
