Shannon Huffman Polson is a writer of creative nonfiction and narrative leadership nonfiction whose work explores the intersection of grit, leadership, women and war, the natural world and faith. One of the first women to fly the Apache helicopter in the U.S. Army, she is the author of The Grit Factor: Courage, Resilience and Leadership in the Most Male-Dominated Organization in the World (Harvard Business Review Press, 2020), the memoir North of Hope: A Daughter's Arctic Journey (Zondervan/HarperCollins), and a collection of essays, The Way the Wild Gets Inside. Her forthcoming Fully Human Fully Alive: Ancient Wisdom for the Modern World is expected in 2027. Her essays and articles have won recognition in business and literary publications.
