Conductor Stanley Sperber is a Juilliard graduate and professional umpire, formerly a varsity tennis player at Columbia University and an internationally certified tennis chair umpire.
His 60-year conducting career has taken him all over the world as a guest conductor and has included 15 years as music director and chief conductor of the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, as well as the National Choir of Israel. As a tennis umpire for the past 40 years, he has umpired two world #1-ranked men's singles players and has officiated at tournaments in 12 different countries.
