Stefano Amadei was born in Varese (Va) on 28/10/1974 and graduated in 1993. He mainly writes stories, fairy tales and short stories for children. In 2012 he won the second prize in the literary competition "Sassi&Parole" organised by the municipality of Mercallo (Va) with the story "Mai Stata Sognata", a tale that tells of a dream seen through the eyes of a little girl. In 2014 he published Racconti Svolazzanti, an illustrated book including a collection of twelve fairy tales for children, a title later translated into English (Flyaway Tales), French (Contes Flottants) and Spanish (Fabulas Voladoras). In 2018 it was the turn of L'Opificio dei Colori, his first novel. In his second novel, L'Inferno di Malinverno ovvero Diabolici (e inutili) tentativi di liberarsi di un gatto nero (2020), he pays homage to Dante's Inferno and dedicates a book to the devil Malinverno, his favourite character. In 2021 he decides to pay homage to all the children who showed exemplary courage and respect for the rules during the pandemic by publishing a collection of twelve fairy tales and nursery rhymes entitled I sogni di Lenticchia - Favole di Campagna. He lives in Ispra with his wife Tiziana, their daughter Ivana and his cat Virgola.
