Steve Farber is a bestselling author, award-winning speaker, leadership consultant, and singer-songwriter whose work has helped redefine what it means to lead with passion, humanity, and courage.

As the founder and CEO of The Extreme Leadership Institute, Steve has spent decades helping organizations build high-performance cultures rooted in trust, commitment, and genuine human connection. His team has helped more than 25 companies earn recognition on Best Places to Work lists, and his clients span industries ranging from construction, healthcare, and technology to finance, government, and manufacturing.

A former Vice President of the Tom Peters Company, Steve is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading voices on leadership and culture. He has been named one of Inc. Magazine’s Top 50 Leadership and Management Experts and was recognized by Microsoft as one of the world’s top speakers to watch.

Steve first rose to prominence with the publication of The Radical Leap, a groundbreaking leadership fable that challenged traditional notions of business leadership by putting love, energy, audacity, and proof at the center of organizational success. The book received Fast Company’s Readers’ Choice Award and was named one of the 100 Best Business Books of All Time. Since then, Steve has authored several influential books, including the Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestseller Greater Than Yourself and Love Is Just Damn Good Business, which was featured by the World Economic Forum and recognized as one of the top business strategy books of the year.

His newest book, The Radical Promise: Mastering the Art of Doing What You Say You Will Do, co-written with leadership legends Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner, explores the discipline of credibility and the power of trust-centered leadership.

Steve’s leadership philosophy is grounded in a simple but radical idea: love is not a soft concept in leadership or business—it is the competitive advantage. His work centers around applying the LEAP framework (Love, Energy, Audacity, and Proof) to help clients operationalize love as a business discipline.

Beyond the platform and page, Steve is also an accomplished folk/Americana musician whose songwriting has earned national recognition, including honors in the Great American Song Contest. He often blends music, storytelling, and leadership insight into a uniquely engaging experience for audiences worldwide.

Steve lives in Kansas City with his wife, Veronica, where he continues to write, speak, mentor leaders, and make music guided by his enduring mission: to help people do what they love in the service of people who love what they do.
