Tamara Merrill a left brain/right brain woman has been (among other things) a writer, a school teacher, an administrator, a computer programmer, and an artist. Tamara admits to reading excessively (she has a book a day habit) but manages to schedule time for writing. Her recent work, SHADOWS IN OUR BONES, greed, societal forces, religion, eugenics, and racial prejudice come together in a shameful and shocking way on a small, wooded island off the coast of Maine in the early 1900s. Interweaving the modern story of the descendants with the story of the mixed-race settlers, Merrill shows the reader how the past impacts the present. Other works by Merrill include; The Augustus Family Trilogy: FAMILY LIES, FAMILY MATTERS, and FAMILY MYTHS and many short stories published in anthologies and online.
