He writes about local art and entertainment, lifestyle, and food/drink for publications like Milwaukee Magazine, Shepherd Express, and Milwaukee Record. Other publications he’s contributed to include Fortean Times, The Guardian, Boston Phoenix, Scandinavian Traveler, Doctor Who Magazine, and Pop Mythology. He writes a weekly column called “Tea’s Weird Week” on teakrulos.com. Non-fiction Books Heroes in the Night: Inside the Real Life Superhero Movement (October 2013, Chicago Review Press). An investigation of the movement or subculture of people who call themselves “Real Life Super Heroes” and adopt their own costumed personas and hit the streets to fight injustice. Monster Hunters: On the Trail With Ghost Hunters, Bigfooters, Ufologists, and Other Paranormal Investigators (June 2015, Chicago Review Press). A documentation of paranormal investigators, experiences from investigations, and social aspects of the field. It was a finalist in the Midwest Book Awards and made several reading lists ranging from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to Cult of Weird. The Supernatural in Society, Culture, and History (edited by Marc Eaton and Dennis Waskul, Temple University Press, 2018). Krulos wrote chapter 10, “Cryptozoology: the Hunt for Hidden Animals and Monsters” for this sociology study.
