Thomas Prünte, born in 1958 in Unna, Westphalia, is a certified psychologist, psychological psychotherapist, and couples therapist. He has been in private practice for over 40 years and is also an author. As the author of numerous publications, he has focused on couple relationships, constructively managing crises, and understanding our emotions. In "Building Bridges: The Secret of Closeness and Distance in Partnerships," he introduces couples struggling to find a healthy balance between intimacy and distance. In "You Are My Safe Haven," he offers suggestions for couples on "staying the course in turbulent emotional waters." For individuals going through difficult phases in life, he has developed "The Crisis Management Kit." Encouraging guiding principles and questions invite readers to explore and find a way out. Further information is available in the accompanying booklet. In "How Am I Doing Today? - 44 Possible and Impossible Ways to Start a Therapy Session," you'll find concise, inspiring, and humorous ways to make a therapy session more focused and engaging—for the benefit of patients. "Short Stories" are also available, and patients will find them interesting. His credo, "Feelings tell you what's really going on," is vividly illustrated with numerous case studies in "The Emotional Piano - Dealing with Our Emotions in a Harmonious Way." In "The Meaning of Bad Moods - Why Feeling Bad Can Be Good!" he shows how "negative" emotions can be understood as valuable signposts to neglected needs. Together with his colleague, communication scientist Jan-Rüdiger Vogler, he published "Showing Balls - Masculine Strengths in Partnerships." Their aim is to support men in contributing their unique strengths to relationships. Furthermore, he presents an easy-to-learn method, "The Focused Self," to support patients and therapists in grasping what is essential and keeping developmental goals in mind. He lives and works in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg. P.S. During the lockdown, he wrote the song "Du bist mein Heimathafen" (You Are My Home Port) for couples. It has since been covered in Low German: Feli – "Du biest mien Heimathaaben" (You Are My Home Port).
