Hello, my name—or rather, the pen name I write under—is Tim Osborne. By day, I work as a computer scientist, a profession in a fast-paced and complex world where few of your accomplishments last more than a couple of years. The desire to write fantasy novels has been with me for at least three decades, but I didn't actually start writing until 2020. And since then, I haven't been able to stop. Imagining a fictional (or semi-real) world and sending protagonists on (mostly unpleasant) journeys is both a challenge and a joy. In my writing, I like to venture off the beaten path. My goal is to offer readers something new—something that doesn't mind being a little outside the mainstream. In the case of the Torak books, that includes some eroticism woven into the fantasy setting. What else? I was born in Hamburg in 1964 and grew up in Flensburg, in northern Germany. That's also where I studied computer science. For over thirty years now, I've been living near Darmstadt (currently in Roßdorf), but I still consider Flensburg home. I'm married, have two grown children, and one not-so-grown-up dog.
