Tim Smedley is an award-winning environment writer (BBC Future, The Guardian, The Sunday Times) and author of two groundbreaking books, Clearing The Air: The Beginning and the End of Air Pollution (2019 - shortlisted for the Royal Society Science Book of the Year) and The Last Drop: Solving the World's Water Crisis (2023 - one of The Times Top 100 Books of 2023). In The Last Drop, Tim Smedley uncovers the alarming consequences of human mismanagement and climate crisis on the water cycle. His journey took him across the world from Jordan to Ghana, the USA and Eastern England, to witness the crisis first-hand. With urgent changes required in water usage and management to ensure ecological and human survival, Tim explored a multitude of solutions, including groundwater replenishment, regenerative agriculture, rainwater harvesting, and the humble beaver - the good news is that the solutions are all there, just waiting to be adopted. Tim is also the Editor of the online environmental magazine The New Climate on Medium. He can be found in Twitter exile on BlueSky. And enjoys ghostwriting for other environmental leaders on the Reedsy platform.
