About this listen

He only looked away for a second.

Still haunted by the disappearance of his little sister, Amy, over 20 years ago, Joseph Bridgeman’s life has fallen apart. When a friend talks him into seeing hypnotherapist Alexia Finch to help with his insomnia, Joseph accidentally discovers he can time travel. His first trip only takes him back a few minutes, but his new-found ability gives him something he hasn’t felt for the longest time: hope.

Joseph sets out to travel back to the night Amy went missing and save her. But after several failed attempts, he discovers the farther back he travels, the less time he gets to stay there. And the clock is ticking.

With the help of Alexia, Joseph embarks on a desperate race against the past to save his sister. Can he master his new skill and solve the mystery of Amy’s disappearance before it’s too late?

Previously released as The Unexpected Gift of Joseph Bridgeman, this updated version includes extra chapters, new plotlines, and even deeper character development. It makes way for an expanded vision of the Joseph Bridgeman Series, with the first four books released in 2021 and 2022.

It's a good setup, with enough hooks in reality to make one believe there are time travelers among us.

Ray Porter is sparkling as usual, especially as he brings the witty and sarcastic bits to life. I took one star off because of the female voices that never sit well, as well as the confusion of an American accented narrator for a Brit character.

Simple but entertaining

I love time travel genre but this story could have had a more faster pace maybe .. Amy's disappearance reason was a twist but why Joe didn't notice while he was living with Amy as a teen .. she mentioned seeing hairy toe but still

good story but the pace could have been better

the thriller keeps you engaged at all nooks and corners. I did not realise that the book had already finished it was so engrossing and so intimidating at times. the performance of the reader was so great that I was completely in the book living as a character would like to definitely come back for more such reads. going to book 2

Great book good aspect

What a fun ride! Lots of twists along the way… hooked me in interesting characters that could easily have their own spin-off book. I’m absolutely ready for book 2!
(I must admit I did find the American recitation a little hard as well as some odd American terminology considering the location of the tale. I have lived out of the UK for a while, but, do people really call prams, strollers??
Regardless of that and a few other out of place American terms I still loved it.)

Who doesn’t love some time travel?

This book is simply amazing. No words - story, screenplay, narration - everything is brilliant. I wish more books like this are written. The imagination is superb, so real. I absolutely love it and recommend it to everyone to give it a read.

The most amazing book I have ever read
