Jacopo Brancas, detto Ticchie, è stato trovato morto dalla polizia. Ticchie, un classico topo di biblioteca, stava studiando "Historia Fiorentina", un vecchio manoscritto al cui interno si celerebbero delle sconvolgenti rivelazioni sulla morte del grande pittore Masaccio. Il tutto dovrebbe essere collegato a un quadro dell’artista, ‘La Sagra’, andato misteriosamente perduto. L'indomito avvocato fiorentino Corrado Scalzi si trova assegnato al caso e dovrà, ancora una volta, usare tutto il suo ingegno per risolvere l'enigma.

Antonino "Nino" Filastò (1938) è un avvocato e scrittore italiano. Da legale, ha seguito alcuni dei più noti processi italiani del Novecento, dai delitti del Mostro di Firenze al disastro del Moby Prince. Come scrittore, è considerato uno dei padri del legal thriller all'italiana.
