We are constantly bombarded with inaccurate, contradictory and sometimes misleading information - until now.

Ben Goldacre masterfully dismantles the dubious science behind some of the great drug trials, court cases, and missed opportunities of our time. He also shows us the fascinating story of how we know what we know, and gives us the tools to uncover bad science for ourselves.

The title caught my attention before I could even know what it contained. This book perfectly matches my thread of thinking, and i got answers to a variety of questions. This book also touches upon scientific nuances of any research, and the way statistics work in interpreting the observations. Those who are PhDs or doing research will be able to strike a chord. Finally, the way he highlights shortcomings of scientific reporting in newspapers is marvellous.

Special thanks to the narrator Rupert Farley, this is the second best narration I have ever heard, the first one is for Patrick Egan in Thinking Fast and Slow.

Please enjoy the listen.

A gripping tale!

A great book to realise how common folks get lured into bad medicine. There is a lot more emphasis on Homeopathy being a bad example, but luckily Ben takes up other similar examples. A glimpse of statistical methodology was a surprise piece.

an eye opener
