©2020 M. N. Forgy (P)2020 TantorI really liked listening to this book as narrators - Alexander Cendese and Anastasia Watley brought the characters of Keiran and Leona to life that I felt every emotion and action that was happening.
Alexander slowly has become a liked narrator for me after listening to the Text series by another author and now I look forward to listening to him.
The start of the book grabs your attention as we see ten year old Keiran and his little brother Roman with their father and how they have been readied right from childhood for the Mafia life and to be brutal and cold.
Even though Roman is a softie beneath, Kieran as the elder brother does his best to his shield his little brother and take the responsibility as much as he can.
Leona and Keiran are from the enemy families and due to a twist of fate and circumstances, there's a marriage arranged between them.
But Leona has no intention of being tied to such a brutal man and flees away. Only she doesn't know, that now she's already become an obsession of a very dangerous man.
The part where Keiran and Leona are in forced Proximity and seeing Keiran as such a different man with her - really made me connect to them right from those scenes.
The tension is high among their families but the tension between these two, oh my.
Keiran is really the Cold and dangerous man he's infamous for but then that's what the mafia life has shaped him to be.
Yet those moments with Leona show a different Keiran that definitely had me liking him much more.
The chemistry is hot... I mean that scene... Where they dive in the ocean and do it for the first time.... So freaking 🔥🥵♨️
I'm so excited to dive into Roman's book next. Especially those chapters at the end had me wide-eyed with what was being said and done. I'm so nervous as to what's going to happen now. Can't wait to dive into the next one.
