Publisher's Summary

The average Christian in America does not know what his own religion teaches, nor does he care. He may call himself “Christian”, but he lives his life exactly as he wishes, making no attempt to conform his conduct to the commands and tenets of his religion. Daily Wire writer Matt Walsh confronts his fellow Christians in this bold, clear-eyed book that serves as an urgent reminder of Matthew 7:13 - "For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it."

Chapter 3 has two audio tracks overlaid.

Even with the format error, the book is worth the listen. I hope many others will take the time to hear the message Matt has brought to wake us up.

Over the top insulting and politicly incorrect !!

Don't read this or listen to it if your offended by someone who won't pat you on your back or unwilling to make you feel good about yourself for doing nothing to earn your salvation. Grace may be unearned and given but we all need to do more then proclam our faith we need to examine ourselves correct our method of worship follow our path and be willing to embrace our shortfalls while we are so willing to rebuke each other while sitting on our throne of judgement. You hit this nail on the head.

I want to thank you Matt I listen to you on Daily wire daily for over a year now. I think your sarcasm, faith, concervatisum, and opinions cause we to self reflect deeper then most who represent the church. Keep on keepin on fine sir.

Lastly, I'm disappointed in the lack of people reviewing and buying this book on the site and know it's because people don't like being challanged. Not so much in their political opinions but more in their faith.

Audio is broken after chapter 3

In Chapter 3, the audio becomes doubled and two speakers are speaking. The book was really good until then, but afterward, it becomes impossible to understand.

Offensive, rebuking, convicting....We desperately needed to here this.

There is really so many topics covered in this book. But I feel that he strikes each one so well. And many people might get offended and hurt by this rhetoric. But the real Christians that sit down to read this or put this on in their car will find it to be accurate and necessary. It truly is a wake up call. This book not only highlights the way Christianity is at face value in America honestly, but it really should convict you to be real and read your bible and live it out. Because it doesn’t take much to think and honestly come to the same conclusion that Walsh has written in these pages. It’s just straight up brutal honesty. And it’s at its core a sermon on repentance. It’s exactly what many of us should pick up and read if we’re not going to go straight for our bibles. I strongly recommend reading this literature, it’s well worth the money.

Want to know more about Christianity?

Long one here, bucks up...

I was born and raised Catholic... well let’s be honest, extremely luke warm Catholic. I think most of us who grew up in the 80’s and beyond grew up Luke warm. It was because of this that when I first hit hardship in my life I went to the East for my philosophy. I even began Yoga, which for a man previously a competitive powerlifter was pretty off the wall.

I am the type of person who likes to really go down the rabbit hole. I read most of what the Dali Lama wrote including the work with Paul Eckman (I think that was his name), the Tao Te Ching, anything by Yogani, and the Bhagavad Gita

It wasn’t till I realized, thanks to a well respected friend, that all of these philosophies lead to the worst kind of hell, emptiness within ones self. My friend reminded me that Christianity gave us companionship through Christ. That he offered the light in that darkness. That helping others could be done through his love and not selfishly to satisfy my ego (yes, this is the depth I went with the eastern stuff).

I went down the Eastern rout using books. This book is an excellent starting book for most American Christian to learn more about their faith.

You will get more out of this book if you are willing to forgo whatever prejudice you may have (or may not realize you have) and search for the TRUTH. If that is you, welcome to the most incredible journey possible in this present existence.

This book will give you the idea of where to buy your hiking boots and which map to follow. You can rest assure that it is correct, because it is unified and has been unified since the days Jesus walked this earth. Everyone who’s disagreed with this philosophy has gone off and done their own thing and somewhere got lost along the way. This book will lead you on the way to the REAL, DIRECT teachings of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Enjoy

Convicting

All Christians should read this book. Also most of the time I'm not typically compelled to post on comments or reviews so that ought to speak for itself somewhat.

Inspirational No Holds Truth

Wasn’t sure what I was getting into, but Matt Walsh does an excellent job of bringing to light the state of our Society and Religion and the options for True Believers to follow.
