Publisher's Summary

Welcome to their kingdom....

I never thought I'd step foot in Royal Manor again. But four years later, here I am...back to finish my senior year at Royal Hearts Academy.

And forced to face Jace Covington.

My first friend. First crush. First kiss. The one I left behind.

Only - he isn't the same boy I gave my heart to.

This new Jace is as cruel as he is gorgeous. And he's determined to make my life a living hell. Along with the rest of his glorified family and crew of tyrants.

They expect me to worship the ground they walk on like everyone else, but I'd rather eat dirt.

If Jace Covington wants me gone...he'll have to try harder. Because I've never been the kind of girl to play by the rules.

Warning: Royal Hearts Academy is a new adult/high school series of standalones filled with drama, a touch of angst, and boys who are bad to the bone. Contains graphic language and sexual content. Recommended for mature listeners.

First time for this author and am well pleased

This is the first time that I’ve read or listened to anything written by this author and I can see I am very pleased with her work. I’m also new to Lila Winters as a narrator. She did an excellent job! As always, Teddy Hamilton hit it out of the park, too.

This story was so hard to listen to at times. It was funny, yet heartbreaking at the same time. You wanted to hate Jace, but you also ached for him. He had to grow up and take responsibility for his siblings at such a young age.

Dylan was Jace’s best friend until tragedy strikes and she returns to see him four years later to a different boy who cannot stand to look at her without such hatred. It takes a while before the reader discovers the reason for such hatred, and when you find out you’re heartbroken for the two of them.

The secondary characters are written in as well. You will love her feisty best friend, Sawyer, who will stand up for her friends. Oakley, the step-cousin, and Cole, Jace’s brother, will make you laugh and you will end up loving them.

Even though this book is written about high school students, there are a lot of mature themes and profanity that might not be appropriate for a younger reader. Read with caution.

All in one

I can’t help but think I almost passed this book up. Plot, twists, mystery, romance , all that and only half way. The most, however, is that I have not laughed so much in my life with a book. Dylan is the most awesome. She feels so much, but dishes out the same. Not sure how it ends but if it stops at this point in the book I am happy.

Loved it

This book has a lot in it that deals with real life, it deals with real issues that go on in high school from bullying, parties, drugs, mental health. It's enough to have to just deal with one of these while navigating through high school. Ashley Jade covered these topics outstandingly in this book. I hope the next book will deal with Oakly and I should have waited so that I could just continue the series in one binge read. There was a little humor along with a portion that had my jaw drop and gasp. I could easily reread this one.

Young adult - excellent narration

i love Ashley Jade, her Devil duet was one of the best books i listen to in 2019 - this one would have been better if the age group was a little older. 14 year old's having sex like rabbits i don't think so.. if the back story was senior year in high school and the rest was college it would have been a better story and a bit more realistic. having said all that if you are a very young adult you would enjoy this one.

A Cruel Prince indeed...!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m always on the lookout for a bully type romance book with a darker theme, like “Fear Me” (series) by BB Reid and “Bully” by Penelope Ward and the summary of this one was similar.
This book is similar but perhaps not quite as good as first books in above series. The narration was excellent, the story was good, good enough I listened in one day!!! Now the reason my rating is 5⭐️narration and 4⭐️story is because it felt the characters weren’t as developed or detailed as in other stories. I was left wanting to know more about several situations and traumatic events. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t good, it was and I recommend you download today!!! It was a star away (for me) from being at top of my list in this genre❌⭕️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It could also be that we didn’t get to experience how the two main protagonists navigated their relationship once together... a lot of push and pull and I personally felt she (Dylan) let Jace off way too easy in the end. Still loved it and would purchase any follow up books for sure! Jace was def hot, with a no apology bad boy attitude!

Test the limits of true love.

Loved this book. I liked how the issues could be real teenage problems. I loved the inter term oil that the main characters were going through. Also how I kept having so much hope for Dillion. I did guess most of the big secret however to hear it unfold was enthralling. Never a boring moment in this book. Even at the end of the book I wanted more. You won’t be disappointed if you purchase this book.

What a thrilled ride

This book Made me feel so many emotions I don’t even know where to begin. Beautiful story with complex characters and amazing narration. It kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. I enjoyed every minute of it. Moving on to the most next in the series- Cole’s story.

A roller coaster of emotions

I will first say that I enjoyed listening to it. I like the character, and the voice acting is absolutely amazing! The story itself is good too, but Dylan goes through so much shit, and is tormented so much, that it was sometimes really hard to listen to. I wish there was some more payback from her side, because someone really deserves it (ahem, Jace). And I find it really hard to believe the motives behind it all. Like the credibility behind them... It all seems to easy (for my taste)

Sawyer says it perfect in the ending of the book "If people just talked to each other shit like this wouldn't happen" -or something like that... Can't remember exactly word for word.

The whole flashback to when they were 14 is also a bit confusing to me. They all sounds very aldult to me. And behaves a bit like them too sometimes.

I also wanted to point out that the narrators says different chapters then what is listed in the app. But it is only by one off, so it didn't really bother me all that much. It just confused me in the beginning.

But overall I did enjoy it, and it kept me coming back for more! So much that I finished it all in two day.

If you Are looking for an entertaining but dark friends to enemies to Lovers story This is for you. This book is so funny and the switch in point of view Really has you questioning, What will unfold next in their story.

Dylan is your basic strong mc who is a fool for her bully. Alongside the other charachters she makes This a humorous and worthwhile book which I Finnished in almost 2 days.

A good read

This wasn’t your typical bully romance. It was a friends to lovers to enemies to lovers type of romance filled with trauma, angst and miscommunication. This is my first book by this author and I really liked her writing style and the way the book flowed however would have liked more of the two in the actual relationship but we only got about 25%, the rest was of them either ignoring each other or fighting. I really hated that every parent or guardian in the book was either dead or a let down too but I will get over it and download book 2 because I really liked Sawyers churchy good girl character and the bad boy QB Coles connection

It was okay but has missing info

The first part of the book was great but it’s like the author rushed the second half of the book and decided to leave out many important scenes.. gobsmacked.
