Publisher's Summary
Four-time New York Times best-selling author Gary Vaynerchuk offers new lessons and inspiration drawn from the experiences of dozens of influencers and entrepreneurs who rejected the predictable corporate path in favor of pursuing their dreams by building thriving businesses and extraordinary personal brands.
In his 2009 international best seller Crush It, Gary insisted that a vibrant personal brand was crucial to entrepreneurial success. In Crushing It! Gary explains why that's even more true today, offering his unique perspective on what has changed and what principles remain timeless. He also shares stories from other entrepreneurs who have grown wealthier - and not just financially - than they ever imagined possible by following Crush It principles. The secret to their success (and Gary's) has everything to do with their understanding of the social media platforms and their willingness to do whatever it took to make these tools work to their utmost potential. That's what Crushing It! teaches listeners to do.
In this lively, practical, and inspiring audiobook, Gary dissects every current major social media platform so that anyone, from a plumber to a professional ice skater, will know exactly how to amplify his or her personal brand on each. He offers both theoretical and tactical advice on how to become the biggest thing on old standbys like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, and Snapchat; podcast platforms like Spotify, Soundcloud, iHeartRadio, and iTunes; and other emerging platforms such as Musical.ly. For those with more experience, Crushing It! illuminates some little-known nuances and provides innovative tips and clever tweaks proven to enhance more common tried-and-true strategies.
Crushing It! is a state-of-the-art guide to building your own path to professional and financial success, but it's not about getting rich. It's a blueprint to living life on your own terms.

Life changer
I listened this audiobook after listening extensively to Gary’s podcasts and watching his videos on digital platforms. Crushing it gives an apt roadmap for those who sit on the fence deciding if and when to take the plunge. I write this review just two days before starting my own Hotel Management Advisory business. My last three months of notice period were hectic, but i made sure to listen to Gary everyday. Not one day went without self doubt and anxiety, but Gary’s thoughts made me believe in myself over and over again.
Listening ti this audiobook during this pandemic has been a blessing. Gary has made the effort to read the book himself and takes off on his trademark rants from time to time which makes the book ever interesting. I get the feeling that in coming times, the book may need updates every quarter considering the pace of change in the digital and online world. This i would say is a very good thing.
The mentions of real stories are inspiring and Gary’s what-if scenarios make the listener believe in serendipity and its possibilities.
A must listen for all ages, irrespective of you wanting to be an entrepreneur or not; just read this book to just understand life better.
Gary, you are real influencer. We believe in you. Wish you good health and peace.
Kind regards,
Bijoy Sengupta

Disappointing considering the author
I really expected a knock your socks off book considering who wrote it.
What the book is- a series of stories of people using social media to advertise their business or get started on a business.
What it’s not- a how to book. It is a bunch of ideas, but not a bunch of steps. The introduction talked about a couple different businesses and which social media platform is best for that but that was really only cover through very specific examples.
Here is the whole book- find your passion. Connect with others through social media. Be yourself and let your personality shine through. Use every platform out there. Maybe you’ll get lucky and the right person invites you to do something for s big company that you might get paid for. Contact people. Post more content. Contact them again. Post even more. Cross fingers.

85% fluff and 15% value.
This is with most books, but for some reason I was really expecting this to be super dense. For me, it seemed just as sparse as most books because it was littered with story after story of anecdotal information. I personally prefer specific step-by-step strategies or fact based information.
There were definitely bits of gold throughout, but I got those more when Gary was talking, which is about 60% of the time. The rest are stories from others.
With that being said, maybe I missed something. So I’m giving it a re-listen because I had crazy high expectations! :)

Common sense don't expect any wow moments
Seemed like an 8 hour lesson on common sense with stories written by others that flip-flop between first second and third person.
1, Work harder than your competition to get ahead 2, treat customers how you would like to be treated 3, do what you love because you will be spending a big part of your life on it.
Duh.

Very disappointed
A book completely filled with testimonials about his Crush It book. A waste of time and money.
I ended up increasing the narration speed to to try and get to good content...
I honestly didn't learn anything about social media marketing. Any motivation that I would have gained was ruined by all the testimonial reviews of his previous book.
I feel dooped and will be asking for a refund...

Meh!!
It’s was ok, good not great. A bit over rated actually. To many hypothetical scenarios story telling that drag on way to long.
What if....A couple, takes up dancing, but is over weight, then starts exercising, then makes a YouTube videos, then gives advice, then strengthens their marriage, then gets picked up by a TV station, then invents dance moves, then becomes millionaires etc etc etc.
Lots of story telling that “could” happen...
On top of that the real life success story’s that actually happened, read by the person it happened to, kept reading in 3rd person then going back and forth referring to themselves in the first person, 2nd and 3rd person, got annoying

Don't Bother
I was only able to make it to 1:35:37 before I had to give up on this "book". The summary of the book leads you to believe it falls into the self-help category, but in reality this "book" is just a big sales pitch for the author's first book (Crush It). It's just the author, and other folks who read the author's first book, talking about why Crush It is so awesome and how it changed their lives. This is not what I thought the book would be.

The only book to read for anyone to change your destiny
I was so excited when the audio launched despite having the book as well. This is awesome content as it has a few updated tips since the book came out . This is not only for entrepreneurial minds to be able to listen to when you time poor like I am. I drive to work for 1 hour and will finish this audio in less than a week but most of all I will take from it is implementation to maximise the benefit of the little TIME we have today as Gary says time is our only currency-don’t waste it ! this audio is a fast track to absorbing the content and please do yourself a favour apply what you have listened to and get the value that is left on the table it is up to us to make that leap of faith definitely a book or audio on your must read list recommended

Not what I expected.
I expected this to be a book by Gary V. in parts it is, but a huge amount of it seems to be 'crowdsourced' stories of people who are 'crushing it' after reading Gary V's book, 'Crush it'. It's like one big, long ad for another book.
The stories are still inspiring (to a degree) and the narration etc is great (great to have Rich Roll in there), but if you are looking for a guidance the recurring theme seems to be to go and read 'crush it' instead.
Nothing against Gary V either, I'd highly recommend reading his book 'jab, jab right hook' instead.

deceptive title & blurb, just one long advert
So, in the blurb Gary V promises to unleash the tools to teach you how to be an internet savvy business or brand owner with a decent grasp on how to make all the social media platforms work for you and increase your exposure to new customers.
What you actually get is an 8 hour long advert for his other book (confusing as it's called 'crush it') There are repeated references to 'crush it' and it took quite some time for me to grasp he was actually talking about a completely different book, not referencing a system he was later to reveal in this book (crushing it)
Basically he introduces a host of people who are 'crushing it' by using the principles laid out in his other book (crush it) but doesn't actually explain what those principles are in this book (crushing it). \this should be marketed as additional reading for those that have already read the other book, NOT deceptively marketed as a stand-alone product.
I have wasted 8 hours of my life with this (well 6 actually as I gave up on it before the end) and hope to save you from doing the same.

Not for me, this is for someone with no talent and who has a hobby such as playing a video game and being a social influencer from it

OK for motivation
The book is okay for motivation.
Gary is spending 80% of the books content by giving example of how other people got positive reault after reading his first book. So this books is more a commercial for the first book and doesn't give much new in return. And its all written in the headline so no big surprise "How Great Entrepreneurs Build Their Business and Influence-and How You Can, Too".
The book is failing to deliver the last part "and How You Can, Too". Since you need to be reading in-between lines yourself to reflect on your own business.
So if you are already running a business this book might motivate you and give you some directions on where to do your marketing, but don't expect to many "How to".

Oh my god, WE GET IT ALREADY!
Considering how much hype Gary Vee has gotten over the last year it's obvious people (including myself) would be excited about this. I got this as my free audiobook from Audible because fucked if I'm gonna pay for what I probably already knew from following Gary on social. It was nice to hear him narrating his own book but my god he is so annoying to listen to. Every fucking sentence is read EXACTLY THE SAME WAY. Seriously, you sound like a 3rd grader in reading class. Furthermore, while I like hearing 1st person stories of people who "made it", Jesus Christ do they also become tedious. "I was a nobody bla bla bla hated my job bla bla bla living in my parents house bla bla bla and then I started doing internet stuff, following my passion bla bla bla and then KABLAMMO suddenly shit started happening. Wow, never heard that one before! Oh except maybe A MILLION TIMES! Goes something like, "once I was just a loser like you, and then I followed my dreams and TA-DAAAA I'm successful now!" Please spare me. We get it, the internet is a huge opportunity. Content, engagement, hard work etc etc will get you a long way. I had to stop listening once he kept going on about Musically - WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SHIT!?! I almost gagged how cheesy that platform is. Oh and saying "never bet against Facebook"? Were you born yesterday? They are INFORMATION WHORES, selling your data to the highest bidder. Its one thing to use it for business but as for personal I would avoid at all costs. The biggest thing that pissed me off was the "I was born with Alpha DNA." Ok shut up now Gary, you are really sounding like a twat. We got your message, now go away and enjoy your millions of dollars

Interesting Idea, Poorly Executed
Long time follower of GV on his Podcasts and Youtube Channel, was a little hesitant buying the book after reading some of the reviews and I'm honestly wishing I could return this Book.
It's mostly an Ad for his previous book Crush It mixed in with a few stories of people who have succeeded using by reading his previous book.
The main problem, the book is about 1/4 good ideas but it's all over the place, if you listen to this while driving on commuting, you can never remember what was said when you left off as the book is just all over the place.
Save the money and watch the Youtube channel and Podcasts, they are better formatted than this book.

Wow, this book really makes the mind switch into full speed
A friend recommended this book, & read it not knowing it was about social media. I don’t know much about social media platforms, so thought I’d continue reading to learn as my 10yr old son is interested.
Wow, half way through my mind turned to so many new things I could do for myself or at least try. Now I’m asking my son for advise on how these things work. Totally mind blowing. Never would I have thought about doing anything I have in mind now, without listening to the book. My mind darted off so many times I’m not sure how much I missed so going to start from the beginning again, do research & take notes. Thanks very much

So so
This book is a 50/50 depending on the person, if you like cliche and repetitive sounding success stories as motivation this is the book for you.
On the other hand there are some fundamental tips, knowledge and resources you can take from this book to use to your advantage.

No new info
it reads more like a self help book. There is little content and it's mostly stories about people who made it and how. I guess it's meant to be inspiring, but it didn't really add anything new.

Absolutely brilliant for motivation
I was doing a lot of binge watching, not ready the face my true purpose amd constantly would find sxcuses not to do something. I am mot saying it solved it completely. I probably need hypnosis for that (haha) but it certainly did shout out some home truths. Get off your arse and start doing it amd don’t waste time if you want to be auccessful. Highly recommended.
