first half slower

The council seemed rather incompetent in this book.
Also, Sophie spent so much time just "planning" with her friends in her room. She spent scenes separately telling Dex and Keethe and Fitz and Biana all her secrets and what she knew about the Black Swan and Neverseen. I wanted action or try-fail cycles. Still, it was interesting to read anyway. So, it was well done.

Then, everything changed when the fire nation attacked. I mean when the everblaze sparked in the second half of the book.

I do think the millennia-old elves should be wiser or nicer or have better plans than they do, though. For a society of ancients, they get flustered easily and don't anticipate the right troubles. None of the elves act as old as they are supposed to be.

Everblaze is worth it

Compared to the first two books, the storyline is much more action packed and the story has been narrated wonderfully. It’s worth every single bit of your credit!

Fantastic book for young girls

I would definitely recommend this book to any parent of young girls who love books like Harry Potter but want a female character they can identify with.

Easy Listen

This series is Harry Potter meets Twilight. It's an easy read, I was hoping for a little more ingenuity in the story line.

great entry in the series

This seems like a really pivotal book in this series, where Sophie continues to figure out where she belongs and how she got there. It had several interesting twists and a mystery that ran through the series so far got resolved, in a very satisfying way. It also had a fantastic ending
I didn't like how we alsmost didn't get to spend any time at school. I think this is the best book so far

Caitlin Kelly is a great narrator with a really pleasing voice, it's easy to listen to even at 1.75 speed. I think she does great, especially considering the sheer number of voices she has to doi

Very good book for all ages

This is a middle grade book, but it is still a fun read for adults as well. Your younger teens will love it, as will the rest of the family.

More intense

The book is great even though the story and violence are getting more intense. There are some hints at possible suicidal thoughts during this book, so if your child might be sensitive to that you might reconsider. That said, I still let my 11 and 13 year old (who is sensitive to violence) listen and they were not bothered by the content.
