Publisher's Summary

If every therapist and psychotherapist on the planet could repeat this to their clients, like a mantra, again and again, there would be fewer therapists and psychotherapists. Because it works. Very quickly.

Realising that what you're worrying about and stressing over doesn't really matter so much in the grand scheme of things is the door to freedom and healing. And the little profanity 'F**k It' is the key to that door. Ask anyone who's come close to death, or lost someone close to them, or discovered they have a serious disease and they'll say the same thing: that the little things don't matter, F**k It...

Enjoy life in every moment for what it is, not what you want it to be... worry less, live more... remember what's important and forget the rest.

John and Gaia have taught F**k It Retreats in Italy and around the world since 2005. They have taught thousands of people how to say F**k It: how to ease up, let go and feel the natural flow in their lives. On this audio book, they both present the down-to-earth process they teach during their week-long retreats. With their six-part process, you are guided through how to deeply relax and let go, then how to carry this out into your life.

Arrogant, dangerous New-Age blabbering

This is the first time I have written a review, as I felt I was abligated to. I could not get through even 1/3 of this horrible book. They blabber endlessly about the undefinable 'energy' of the mind. They make very dangerous claims, such as that it is scientifically proven that the mind can cure cancer.. Sigh.. Clearly, this bordering con-artist and his wife 'Gaia' (the earth goddess) wanted to, and have suceeded in, make some extra money out of desperate people. The message of this book is painfully simply, and does not require a read-through to comprehend: Your life will be nicer if you do more of the things you want to do. Also: The mind can do magic. wow!... Seriously: F**k this book.

Snippets on youtube is all you need

I found short videos on youtube referencing this book, and got curious. Those were the best excerpts from entire book. Seriously. Just listen to those messages, and you will get the point. The rest of the book, all 11 chapters, is a man rambling about the same thing over and over. Occasionally his wife shows up and says something with extrrmely monotonous voice, pretending to be Artificial Intelligence or something.
The excessive amount of use the phrase "fuck it", is annoying. Also seriously annoying usage of i.e. to give additional example. Who does that in normal speech?
I have to say, I feel wasteful purchasing it
Oh well, this too shall past...

Worst book I have purchased EVER!

I was bored from the beginning, decided to not just give up, but at chapter 5 I had enough. Basically this guy took a few ideas from other people (the list he even provides), puts his weird spin on it, gets someone else to call him a genius, then published a book... Wow... I bet anyone can do that. Don't waste your time with this, much better and helpful books available!

What a refreshing book

Enjoyed this book and feel that I've been living a fuck it life all along and have had people even critique my behavior. lost friends, family members and careers. But, that was all worth it. I'm so very glad to be reading my own bias. hehehehehe

Can tell you that I learned a great deal here and learned newer or more fuck it ways of being. So the book was helpful, funny and my husband is enjoying it too.

the spoiler is that you can even say fuck it to the whole process. you are perfect in all situations. two opposing ideas at once is key.

thank you John. will read/listen to more books.

Too "woo woo"

I've been trying to read this for years. Every time start again, it can't keep my attention, my mind wanders, and I don't get anything out of it.
It seemed to be pretty basic stuff, "don't sweat the small stuff and everything is small stuff" kind of advice.
But then--THEN they started talking about MAGIC STANDING. I kid you not. He starts talking about this special standing exercise. I think--this is a joke, right? I'm getting tired of listening to him explain in minute detail how to exactly hold your body in the magic standing stance. My body is getting tired of just thinking about standing in the magic standing stance. I then realize he is serious as a heart attack. Magic standing is the best thing ever that you can do in your life. With magic standing, you can heal the sick and walk through walls. Yes, he said it--WALK THROUGH WALLS.
This is too much for me. Come on, man.
This is a did not finish, for sure. My one star is generous, because the first part of the book could actually be of some use in helping people. Even with that, I'm sorry I wasted my $15 Audible credit on this nonsense.

High quality book

I am not find of using F word, so I immediately formed a prejudice that quality of book is questionable. However I was positively surprised.

Logorrhoea (diarrhoea but with words)

Shame that I wasted time to listen to this audiobook - it's complete nonsense blabbering with a few good tips which would have taken a maximum of 15 mins worth of explaining.

The female narrator sounds just awful. And all that talking of 'just f**k it' and no explanation regarding how one gets to the point of wanting to care less and how to do it. It reminds me of a friend explaining that in order to lose weight she just decided not to eat - and that was it (!). Well - it's not it for me. I'm returning this book.

. f**k it a waste of money

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

I listen to all types of audio books and can easily get through one in two or three days. I couldn't get through this one in a life time and I wish I hadn't bought it. I cant see how anyone can enjoy this book as its pretty poor listening.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Frustration

Any additional comments?

Wouldn't mind my money back.

F**k It Therapy review (of techniques)

A very simple book in understanding how to balance your life through mental awareness concepts, relaxation techniques and worrying less about the 'small stuff'. I say simple in ideas in a good way, because society creates an environment full of competitive edge now, where people only think about themselves. This book tries to teach how to be more calm, patient and relaxed about life.

Simply dreadful.

Couldn't even get through the first chapter because the voice of the reader is so annoying it actually makes my left eyelid twitch. What a waste of my trial. DO NOT BUY.

F**k It - I liked this

What made the experience of listening to F--k It Therapy the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the relaxed tone of the presentation. Yes, I know some people will criticise this book as offering little that's new, but it's nicely done, straightforward, tries to be realistic, and yet challenging.

What does John C Parkin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

He sounds relaxed, and I get a good sense of his character through his voice.

Any additional comments?

The original F**k It book was recommended to me some years ago, and it's only now that I've sat down to listen to its most recent incarnation. There's a lot of good stuff here: it may sound over-simplistic but the core concepts are sound. If you're into this kind of thing. Which I am.

Overall I’d recommend

If you can put up with the constant selling of retreats and online training, the sometimes ridiculously stupid metaphors the book is informative, educational, irritating and profoundly insightful at time. On number of times I fought an urge to stop listening and give it a scolding review before I finish it, but equally often it made me laugh and gave interesting never-thought-of-before perspective

Loved this listen

Finishing was a bit sad, as John became a dear friend while I listened each day.
