Narration was perfection!!!

Wow! I thought Fear Me was fantastic... Fear You is even better!! Keiran is one major off the charts alpha with a major helping of crazy. If I had one complaint, it would be the fact that these characters are 18 and 19, it makes some of the situations hard to believe and the lacking parental involvement odd. I did enjoy this Fear You immensely and can't wait for book 3!!

This second book gives us way more insight to Keiran. We learn a lot about his past, about Lily and why he treated Lake the way he did in the first book. It was needed for me! I had a hard time liking him. Lake finally grew a backbone!! Even though Keiran seems to have toned downed his whole attitude, his true personality is still right under the surface waiting to be released. He was alot softer with Lake this time around but I think it's because how much stress he was under of trying to protect everyone.

There was lots more drama in this one because now there are more people after Keiran and the people in his life. We also get to start finding out about Lake's parents and secrets her Aunt has been keeping. What I really liked about this book is getting to see what happened to Keiran and why he is the person he has become. Having both points of view was really nice. The dual narrators were perfect! Loved it!!

Mixed feelings...

Okay, so I really tried to like this series. The thing is, it’s such a negative and unrealistic story that I found myself wanting to just stop listening. In this audiobook, the main characters are high school kids and they have such dark outlook on everything that it became depressing. The subjects of child slavery, rape, murder, blackmail, coerced sex, etc. are so casually introduced that I kind of worry for the authors mental health. I had listened to the first disturbing book and I gave the second a fair chance, but I’m not going to listen any further in this series. There are also so many characters with so many intertwined connections that the story becomes rather confusing as well. The narration was really well done however. Sorry, but this series is done for me.

AWESOME SERIES!

This review is for all 5 books in this awesome series. B. B. Reid did a fantastic job sucking me into this series and not letting go until I finished all 5 books back to back. I fell in love with Keiran and Lake and all of their friends. There was some hot sex scenes. I totally loved Keiran and his crazy possessive ways. The story just keep getting interesting as it goes on. If you like dark read with crazy, possessive alpha males then this series is for you.

Kieran, The Dark Lord! 😂

This guy is the best worst guy ever! I absolutely LOVE this series! ❤️ I love Lake's growth and admission to herself and what she wanted. I'm such a fan of audiobooks and LOVE the Romance Package and since it came out, I've only turned my television on to stream audiobooks from Audibles! I haven't watched a TV show since. Great narrators, Ava is one of my favorite female narrators next to Andi Arndt but Ava was PERFECT for Lake's character. The guy (Ted?) was good too- just not in my top 5 but it's all good. He did a great job being Keiran although his accent sounds like he's from the mid-west somewhere like North Dakota lol!

Ended up loving it

When book 1 started I was a little put off by the fact that it was about high school students and felt it was a little immature. However I stuck with it and by the end of book 1 I was ready to keep going straight into book 2. Book 2 to me was a little more interesting as the plot unfolded. Plus we got to hear Kearan's POV which was awesome, especially since Teddy Hamilton is such a talented voice actor. Book 2 has ended and I'm already downloading book 3! Can't wait to hear where the other characters end up :)

As warm and fuzzy as dark gets

Fear You is the second part of Lake and Kieran’s story.

Lake is the light to Kieran’s dark but this time around, he better not underestimate her because he taught her well in Fear Me and she isn’t going to be a doormat any longer. Or is she? Because being Kieran’s doormat is kind of what she’s good at.

In Fear You, we get dual POV so we get the addition of Teddy Hamilton to Ava Erickson’s narration and it was a great addition. He did such a great job at adding and detracting from the story just like Ava did. Their voices met the needs of the characters and kept me in the story.

Again, I wish the editing would have figured out a way to make the flashbacks more obvious. It still was hard to decipher when they were occurring but this was my only issue.

Young Love

This was a sad story with a HEA. Mostly about child sex trade and the time Keiran spent as one of their victims. Then, he's accused of killing 2 teenagers. His love interest was a victim of his abuse. Don't fall asleep (like I did) cause you will lose out on some important points of the storyline. I wasn't bored with the book, just fell asleep while listening. Several characters in the book who are important to the plot. But I had a hard time understanding Keiran's ability to survive the trauma as a child and into his teenage years going back to school. Good listen.

Finale to Lake and Kieran

This is the second instalment of the Broken Love series by B. B. Reid. Fear You is a dark enemies-to-lovers romance with a lot of angst, steam and teen-drama.

This high school bully romance contains a lot of dark topics such as kidnappings, murder, child abuse etc. I highly recommend you to read the disclaimer before diving in.

The first book was written only from Lake's POV but the second book was from both Kieran's and Lake's POVs. So if you weren't satisfied with Kieran's reasoning for bullying Lake or needed to know more about his mysterious past, you should definitely read this book! This book will give you answers to most of those questions.

It's a fairly well developed plot with a lot (I mean A LOT) of twists. By the end of the book I felt as if the ending was a bit rushed so their story could have even broken in to 3 books instead of 2! Because there were a lot of things happening. That's prolly one of the reasons this book didn't get 4 stars from me! It was hard to keep up with so many things happening and I felt the push and pull between the two main characters were not properly coordinated and reasoned.

I listened to the Audiobook and gotta say even though Teddy Hamilton does a really good job when it comes to the narration can't really say the same about Ava Erickson. That's more of a personal choice though, nothing to do with the author or the book.

Anyway, overall it was a good read, with a lot of room for improvement! This was my first read by B. B. Reid and I might give some of her new books a go in the future!

So good!

Still a tumultuous, fiery relationship, Fear You continues the story of Lake and Keiran, but now Lake fights back. More is revealed about Keiran broken, harrowing childhood, and the reasons for his feelings against and ultimately for Lake. , But make no mistake. Keiran still continues to be the ultimate controlling and possessive alpha male, but with a bit more balance as Lake no longer easily folds submissively to Keiran. Still one of my favorite bully romances of all time, and this dual narration make it a living experience with expert performances by Ava Erickson and Teddy Hamilton. Ava narrated with excellent range, intonation, and acting ability; and Teddy, equally as powerful a performer added to the velvety richness of his voice. Few actors sounds like, can make love with his voice like Teddy! Broken Love series remains ones on my favorite stories and audio performances ever.

Harsh review, of Lake.

I liked this one more than the first, mainly because of the addition of Teddy, Keiran's POV, and a more interesting storyline. Lake, on the other hand, is a dumb dramatic twat, but at least she's good as a warm hole... SNS she's just not a viable heroine with her acting all hardcore then jumping to unconfirmed conclusions and playing derp damsel. No wonder Keiran treats her the way he does. If this is intentional, props to BB Reid, mission accomplished. Sheldon and Willow are more interesting. Wow I hate Lake...
At least there's no rape in this one.

Well I’m hooked!

Books 1 reeled me on a hook and book 2 was no different. It was even better with both Ava and Teddy narrating bring Keiran to life. The only thing I would change is their ages. I felt it would have been better suited if these kids where in college by rather than high school but other than that I loved it👌⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The story continues...

I really enjoyed this book, the pace and descriptive style were as volatile as the first! I did get a little frustrated with Keiran and Lake's constant back and forth but know this is their power/emotional struggle.
That aside, this is a brilliantly written sort of conclusion to Keiran and Lake's story and my god it was explosive!
The addition of Teddy Hamilton to the performance really enhanced things even more! Ava Erickson and Teddy Hamilton combine brilliantly!

I'm addicted, and addiction can be soooooo good!

I have gone through every book in this series like a lost person in the desert would go through bottles of water!

The start is kinda dark, the sex is raw and well explained, with lots of "scary" hurdles and antics along the way and ending with a beautiful HEA!

I REALLY DESPERATELY WANT MORE!!!

I love that this book goes back to following the original characters because they veered off for a while to their friends and family.

If you don't mind raw honesty, darker than dark history and intensity (including lots of intense sex), plus you enjoy a different type of romance to the usual white Knight and flowers, then this will knock your socks off! I love dark romances and even darker characters with an erotic touch so when I started to listen to this series I was hooked!

I've recently started downloading more from this author and I have to say that I have put them in my list of favourites! So I would be advising any "none-snowflakes" to have a listen. If the first book is too much, then please don't give up, because once love is in the air it gets sweeter..... Still intense but definitely much more loving between the characters.

I just hope and pray that this isn't the end of the story and I have more to sink my teeth into.... Or would that be my ears??? Hmmmm.... Anyway, I have fallen in love and maybe have a new obsession.

Enjoy xx

Addicted to Kieran

Wow, wow WOW!!!
I love the dual POV in this book and Teddy Hamilton as Kieran is absolute PERFECTION
!! So many plot twists and my my heart was gripped throughout.
BB Reid writes her heart out, I’m not new to by anyone means but I can’t believe this is her debut series!!

Okay, so Lake kinda peed me off a little this book, and I’m annoyed at myself for even thinking that after Kieran’s beastly cruelty to her. But I’m all on board and completely understand her. I guess understanding the darkness that bred the monster in Kieran opened me up to me.

5 savage stars!!

I honestly didn’t think there would ever be a HEA!

** Detailed review - Contains spoilers **

Just like the first book, this one has lots of triggers. It’s dark & wild. Although Keiren stops being so forceful with Lake he’s still pretty rough & controlling for majority of the book. There’s mention of rape, child slavery & inappropriate situations regarding children. We see way deeper into Keiren’s past life in this book and gives us a lot more meaning into the way he treats Lake.

I really struggled with the push & pull in this book. I couldn’t keep up. One was constantly pulling while the other was pushing. One minute Kieren was thinking about how much he wanted Lake forever and wanted to keep her from hurt, the next minute he’s pushing her away and wants to torment her. And I just couldn’t understand why Lake was working so hard to put Keiren in jail when she loved him and was still giving in to him. Talk about whiplash! There was so much back & forth in this book that I kind of got over it & just wanted them both to cut the bullshit and admit what they really wanted.

The turning point was the Valentine’s Day/Keiren’s birthday date night. I love sweet Keiren even though he’s still got rough edges lol. And then when they met up at the park and he finally declares his love!

I think I really needed Kieren’s POV to get over all the horrible shit he did. Like the day he pushed her off the monkey bars. It was a twist of stopping her from putting herself in danger but punishing her for not doing as she was told because that’s all he knew. Knowing he regretted it instantly and regretted all the hurt he’d caused her from the 10 years of torment definitely helped ease my disdain for Keiren. Hearing him vow to spend the rest of his life making up for everything he did definitely helped as well.

I really struggled to like Keiren through out the first 2 books but I certainly couldn’t help but love him and feel sorry for him at the same time. He was so tortured from his past and was trying so hard to do the right thing especially with Lake but he was also afraid of her and the feelings she made him feel. He definitely had to learn how to love Lake.

There was lots of plot twists and random connections that pulled everything together which was cool to read! The book kept me interested and wanting to know more but at the same time I was just super ready to get to the happily ever after part after hours of constant push & pull.

The narrators were awesome! Teddy is my all time fav male narrator. He was perfect for Keiren.
