Story
Every bartender should follow one simple rule - don't go home with the customers. That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar - also known as me. Still, I’m not keen on breaking my own rules since I know where that can lead - no place good.

Being a hit man has its perks, but I never thought getting an accidental mooning by an attractive PI while he’s caught on a fence would be one of them. While it’s not exactly love at first sight, he’s captured my interest and won’t let go. Suddenly, I find myself caught in a game of cat and mouse, determined to attract the attention of Jackson, the PI who should be my enemy. He pretends like he’s not flattered by my flowers and the mentions of my totally-not-fictitious blow-up doll, Randy (or was it Dandy?), but I know better.

Conor: It starts with a drunken text pic. The kind I would normally never send. Only, instead of it going to the flirty hotel bartender, it goes to some random stranger who actually responds. Publisher's Summary
Ash Harrington's life is out of control. At 23 years old, he's suddenly the head of a multibillion dollar global corporation he is in no way equipped to run. His father is dying. His mother's run away. He's spent his entire adult life playing fast and loose with his life and his loves, but when he's dragged into a position of responsibility with the fate of the company on his shoulders, he goes spinning into freefall. And Brand Forsythe is the only man to catch him.
Icy, detached, nearly twice Ash's age, the massive monolith of a British valet is impossible to deal with and like no servant Ash has ever met. Domineering and controlling, Brand quickly puts Ash's life in order. And quickly takes Ash in hand.
Even if by day Ash has to project authority, leadership, and calm...by night he's discovering the breathless pleasure of giving up control. The shivering thrill of surrendering to Brand. The sweet taboo of being submissive to the man in even the smallest things. Ash can't quite understand why it feels so good to put himself in Brand Forsythe's capable, commanding hands. He only knows, as he faces the hardest decisions of his life...the only thing that can save him is the love of his cocky valet.
Contains mature themes.

So much more than expected.
Joel Leslie - WOW. You killed this. There was no point when I didn't entirely believe that there were multiple people talking in this story! If it wasn't edgy enough, you added so much tantalizing emotion that it became impossible to listen while driving or doing anything other than listen. Well done. This is a performance that was much more than narration! Bravo
Composer Cole McCade - Although I heard good things about this story at the time it was published in spring of 2018, I also knew that this was a quick 'action/reaction' to the behavior of a self-described 'best-selling' author previously unknown to me.
I dare say that I've read enough that I don't imagine there are too many best-selling authors who are unknown to me, at least with name recognition.
There were a few medical details that weren't quite right but as the author proclaimed, this was intended to be satire. I won't provide specifics as not everyone would be pulled out of the story by unlikely events.
I've seen the word gobsmacked in stories and have never used or heard the word used in real life. I was gobsmacked. This story was emotion-packed and provocative. I wouldn't have expected this to have so much of an own-voices flavor but this only adds to the performance art presented by this extremely talented duo, wordsmith McCabe and actor Leslie.
I listened to this on audible and now I will buy the book. It's that good.

Wonderful!
Love the story, love the narrator, author’s notes are at first hilarious (GO COLE!) and second, heartbreaking. Makes me want to read everything out there by him. Now I have a new author to look forward to. And Joel Leslie is as always a wonderful performer of the written word. Highly recommend!

Author’s note
Thank you for sharing truth in your letters at the end of this book. I was surprised to hear the information. And I must admit I laughed aloud when you shared the story about “cocky.” I’m looking forward to reading and listening to even more of your books, your your letters at the end serve to strengthen my resolve. Fun book too by the way. I enjoyed the humor found throughout.

THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING!!
THIS BOOK! THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING!!! Not only do I LOVE the reason on why it was made (hello #cockygate) but the story itself was perfect. Flawd perfect-for-each-other characters. And it was HOT. This book is in my hands down top 10 favorite books of all time. I love the fluffy idea of not so perfect love thy scares others but when you find the right person- that right match- it all becomes ok. That scary attraction becomes a perfect kind of love and these characters have it.

Entertaining
I had a few issues with this story until I listened to the author’s notes at the end and discovered how and why this book was written. I would desperately prefer fewer (or no) uses of “the other man”, and the Full Devotion/Limitless Love kink could have stood a bit more fleshing out to make it less dubious, but overall it was a good story and I will listen to the second book.
Joel Leslie, as usual, is outstanding and continues to set the bar for me for how other narrators stack up.

Joel leslie saves the book
I bought this book because of Joel leslie. I can’t even get to chapter 4. It is so flipping cheesy. I can’t stop rolling my eyes. So cheesy. Joel leslie is the only reason I got to chapter 4. Couldn’t finish and asked for my credit back. Author is too busy looking for flowery words paragraph after paragraph. This is MHO.

Fucking Love
Jesus Christ I love this book so fucking much. I didn't think I could get this into this book but I did. I love the narrator which is guilty not my favorite, but he did an amazing job for this book. Joel has gotten better with more books.
I also love this author because the end note was funny as hell. But he's also super talented to create such an intricate and amazing story.
Loved this book.

Incongruous story about domination
Apart from the constantly whining voice of the ‘hero’, this story is completely incongruous. From the dying father who never prepares his son to take over the company to the uneducated valet who acts like a CEO this is really a tale about an older bully who completely dominates and controls his younger charge. No man would get away with doing this to a younger woman so why are stories about gay men written about pathetic individuals who get controlled........really hated this story
