Libby

I found Killian drunk and sprawled out on my lawn like some lost prince. With the face of a god and the arrogance to match, the pest won't leave. Sexy, charming, and just a little bit dirty, he's slowly wearing me down, making me crave more. He could be mine if I dare to claim him. Problem is, the world thinks he's theirs. How do you keep an idol when everyone is intent on taking him away?

Killian

As lead singer for the biggest rock band in the world, I lived a life of dreams. It all fell apart with one fateful decision. Now everything is in shambles.

Until Liberty. She's grouchy, a recluse - and kind of cute. Scratch that. When I get my hands on her, she is scorching hot and more addictive than all the fans who've screamed my name.

The world is clamoring for me to get back on stage, but I'm not willing to leave her. I've got to find a way to coax the hermit from her shell and keep her with me. Because, with Libby, everything has changed. Everything.

Contains mature themes.

Exceed all my expectations!

I came in with huge hopes because I loved Dear Enemy and can only imagine loving this one as much or more. I an thrilled and joyous because it blew all of my expectations away and then some! What a great story! Every plot twist and every development felt organic, real and nothing that made me think "Oh I know where this is going!". I loved the characters, the friendships, the chemistry but I think what I loved most is that there are no predictable secret situations that made this story feel like so many others. Kristen Callihan definitely has a knack for constructing stories that keep me engaged and characters that have layers of humanity making them feel real. The narration was fantastic. Both Jeremy York and Lynn Barrington delivered outstanding performances bringing this story to life. All the stars!!!

Swooning

This was a new to me author and let’s just say she Rocked it out of the park.

Most true to a musical lifestyle story I’ve had the pleasure of reading. So good!!

So thrilled this is finally on audio!

This has always been one of my few non-audio rereads because I love the book so much! I love how messed up Killian is in the beginning, I love that is issue is exactly what scares the crap out of Libby, love that she shoots him with a hose for their “meet cute” and just a million other things about this book. The writing flows to drag you right into the story and both characters are perfectly likably flawed. But the icing on the cake was Killian’s dumb move at the end with the song he picked even though Libby got and understood the message... that was perfection! The narrators were ok, not my favorite and not what I was expecting (I kept expecting a blue alien with horns and hot abs to make an appearance 🤷‍♀️) but I got used to them.

New genre from this author for me

But I really enjoyed it. The narration was really good but I don't usually like the swapping from the male to the female....Don't know why they don't have the two narrators reading together....would make more sense...but it was well done with a great story..

needed some more depth

it's my first read of this author and I think she needed to push her main character's a little deeper. the story was one that has been rehashed a lot of times but she did an ok job of piecing it together. Liberty was sassy and Killian seemed to hold his own and the band seem to be grounded. the enormity of what happened to one of the members didn't seem to give me the empathy that I would normally feel.
the steamy scenes where exactly that, steamy and I think Liberty did a good job in maintaining her strength. Miss Callihan has taken a tricky subject and injected it into the story which turned out to be the main crunch in the thick of it all.
all in all I just felt that the novel glossed over a fairly gritty plot . rock bands tend to be written in a seemingly darker way. so in saying this, I'd describe it as sweet, a tad funny, steamy, Alpha and a gifted, sassy heroine.
but all of this is encompassed on the lighter side of rock and roll
