Publisher's Summary

I was just your normal twentysomething with seven associate degrees and no idea what I wanted to do with my life. That is, until I died...Well, almost.

As if a near-death experience at the hands of an old coffeemaker wasn't embarrassing enough, I woke up to find I could talk to animals. Or rather one animal in particular.

His full name is Octavius Maxwell Ricardo Edmund Frederick Fulton, but since that's way too long for anyone to remember, I've taken to calling him Octo-Cat. He talks so fast he can be difficult to understand, but seems to be telling me that his late owner didn't die of natural causes like everyone believes.

Well, now it looks like I no longer have a choice, apparently my life calling is to serve as Blueberry Bay's first ever pet whisperer P.I. while maintaining my façade as a paralegal at the offices of Fulton, Thompson & Associates.

I just have one question: How did Dr. Doolittle make this gig look so easy?

Very fun!!

I enjoyed this book very much!! The reader did an excellent job! Fun plot, intriguing murder mystery and a wonderful escape into a world where a cat can be heard by a certain human! I look forward to their adventures to come in future audible books!

Enjoyed it

So, you do need to allow fiction to be, well, fictional with this book, but it's fun listen. I liked the characters and the mystery was ok. The writing itself is very good.

I didn't have any problem with the narration. She's very good and easy to listen to.

Has this writer even met a cat?

Cat is a stereotype and the heroine is just an idiot. Gave up in Chapter 7.

Interesting Idea

I like the concept, and I love her grandma. Boy, was she wrong on her suspect! Good thing she had a feline wise guy to help.

Cats make the best detectives.

when Angie, a poor paralegal, suddenly starts talking to cats, well just the one specific cat, she finds secrets and mystery follow her everywhere.

I enjoyed this comedic cozy mystery. The plots was well laid out and the characters quirky and endearing.

I also loved the narrator Ann Richardson who gave each character a unique voice and brought their personalities to life.

Move Over Oberon, the Octo-Cat is Here

Outstanding story. The only problem I have with it is that it's too short. I checked, and unfortunately, the rest of the books in this series are around the same length. Please Melissa/Molly consider something at least twice as long (and this before I've even read the others)! Ann's narration is spot on. Her choice of voices for the various characters is excellent and her execution of them consistent. As you can imagine I am a great fan of the Iron Druid series (hence my reference to Oberon in the title). But don't misunderstand, this is not Atticus and Oberon, but something completely different. Try it, you'll like it!!!

Eh...

It’s okay. I’m not really sure I like the characters that much. It’s cute if you like cats. It just didn’t pull me in.
