Daneben gibt es die Auseinandersetzungen zwischen dem König von Polen und dem Deutschen Orden, die schließlich zur Auflösung desselben führten. Die hauptsächlich handelnde Person ist übrigens nicht der namengebende Marcus König, sondern sein Sohn mit einer bewegenden Liebesgeschichte.
