Publisher's Summary

An alien entity has stolen a time weapon.

Rade and the Argonauts must retrieve the weapon and travel back 65 million years to ancient Earth to stop the entity from intervening in humankind's evolution.

The stakes are high. If the team fails, they will return to find a galaxy populated not by humans but by the descendants of the dinosaurs.

The mission won't be easy. Ancient Earth is ruled by giant meat eaters who are just as happy to dine on the Argonauts as on the natives. The team does have one small advantage: their Hoplite battle suits, war machines packed with enough firepower to smash a small army. But how effective are the suits against building-size predators?

As the raging hordes of carnivores close in, the stage is set for the ultimate battle: mechs vs. dinosaurs.

First book ever pitting Mechs vs. Dinosaurs

Love love love LOVE this! Great work by Isaac Hooke and Jeff Daniels, together again. The action is fast and furious, including dinosaur hunting and lots of Mech action. Imagine a Military Science Fiction Spec Ops mission involving T Rexes and Titanosaures, and Utah Raptors. Makes for quite the imaginative combat spectacles. Everything about the story is legit, awesome writing by Isaac Hooke throughout. You’ll laugh out loud at the humor sprinkled throughout. Jeff Daniels is amazing at how he portrays EVERY character differently, not just the voice but intonation and personality. 5 stars out of 5!

Felt like the beginning was forced to get to plot

Just to start, I have enjoyed the first 7 books. But, within first 3 chapters I stopped the book in disgust.
The book starts off with an attack/ heist against the crew on their ship. Action, action, action, ok, great. But then, the main character, who is known for his tactics and military prowess, completely forgets about the 10 mechs in his cargo bay that would have prevented the whole plot of the book from happening, simply by ordering the mech AIs to go take out the boarding shuttles.

It feels lazy, like the author was stumped on how to start so he just jumped into action and hoped no one would notice.

Good job, I think,

I really like it over all, I’m not so sure about the language, i guess I started listening in the wrong place. Didn’t realize this was book eight. I not sure I’ll be listening to the rest of them. Due to the language. I still might, I don’t know. Well let me think about it. ;)

A unique adventure for the Argonauts.

This whole series is fantastic for young males with lots of futuristic military battles and enough vulgar humor to lighten the tension. Luke Daniels does a wonderful job with the distinctive voices of the different characters. Even though this genre is not my preference, I'll listen to almost anything narrated by Luke Daniels. This particular tale has some unique twists that add to the suspense.

Really meh

This was the first of the Argonauts series that I listened too. It seems as if though the narrator is at 1.5x speed. He speaks quick and with small breaks after sentences.
The characters are really flat. With the one being so insufferable as he constantly talks about female parts and getting laid.
The writing in this is not enjoyable. It goes, "Raid said." "Shaw said" "Raid said" "He said" " He said" there are other ways of saying "said."
Would not recommend to use a token on. I got this for free. If not free I would not recommend.

Miss Pronunciation

I love this series. I really go love books like this and the Narator is great also. I just have a Pet Peeve for Miss Pronunciation. When they say "The team WINDED their way around something" I hear him say WIN ded. Emphasizing the WIN part of the word. Sorry if I'm not describing it correctly. Anyways if I'm wrong I'm sorry. I do love the Narator all the voices are spot on.

Character s hard to give a crap about.

I got kind of tired of the author trying to make a total douche bag a loveable rouge. I was hoping that the asshole would suffer some excruciating death through the whole series. Nobody in their right mind would want to work with a person like Bender let alone hire him.

Straight opera, not much curves in the story.

Hope this isn't going in the obvious direction, this whole all phants not green coloured are evil is getting repetitive.
