I loved the underlying theme of friendship and freedom in the entire series, but the relationships between Katherine and Wayland as well as Harriet and McTavish seem to be incomplete. Are they friends or lovers? There was no conclusion. And I don’t know if there’s another book in the series. It’s leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

In addition, I felt Katherine’s deductions were always a bit delayed. Her detective capabilities weren’t too great if her friends didn’t help. She’s quite a lukewarm character to be honest.
