I'm begging you to tell me that the practice of falling in love with your should-be-enemy is common. Story
The first time I met Hudson Rothschild was at a wedding. I’d received an unexpected invitation to one of the swankiest venues in the city. Hudson was a groomsman and quite possibly the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. He asked me to dance, and our chemistry was off the charts. I knew it wasn’t a good idea to get involved with him, considering the wedding I was at. But our connection was intense, and I was having a great time. Though the fun came to a screeching halt when Hudson figured out I wasn’t who I’d said I was.

I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York. The food, champagne, and service were impeccable. The blue-eyed man sitting next to me, even better. He was suave and intelligent. We talked and laughed, and something clicked. Fate took over and the plane was grounded, and we had an unexpected stopover for the night. With no plans, we made our own.

Some women just have it - that combination of stunning looks and sexual confidence that brings men to their knees. Not me. My last boyfriend once fell asleep while we were...you know. Not my proudest moment. And my crush on my hot, arrogant, and oh-so-unattainable CEO? Never going to happen. But one night, after too much wine, I find myself online, creating a profile for a sex kitten called SweetVixen. Safe behind my computer screen, I'm suddenly the seductive goddess of my wildest imagination.

Story
Lexington Dane was my brother’s best friend growing up. We did everything together. He taught me how to throw a punch, how to change a tire...and he taught me how to kiss. I fell hard and fast, and gave him all my firsts. I promised I’d wait for him.... But I’m done waiting, because he went off to college and never came back. He took his fancy business degree and moved to New York City, where he promptly became a real estate mogul - turning every penthouse and apartment project he touched into gold.

Story
It was just a typical Monday. Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client. After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed. Or so I thought, until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch to. My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance. And that was the good part of my day. Because the gorgeous man who crouched down and looked at me like he wanted to eat me alive was none other than my ex.

Publisher's Summary
Mabel "Maybe" Willis died a virgin at the very young age of 24. She leaves behind her parents, Betty and Bruce, her brother, Evan, a laptop filled with one too many Jason Momoa memes, and a Kindle library with more books than one human being could ever finish in a lifetime. Cause of death: a text message.
Okay. So, I didn't die. But I may as well have. One minute, I'm a woman trying to find her way in the world, and the next, I'm the sender of six of the most embarrassing text messages that have ever been sent in the history of time - or the cell phone. Whatever.
We're talking code red, send a flipping mayday, the apocalypse is coming kind of texts.
And I didn't just send them to some random person I'll never see again. No. That would be too easy.
I sent them to Milo Ives.
The man who played a starring role in all of my teenage fantasies - and my brother's lifelong best friend. And, boy oh boy, has he grown up. He's hard-bodied, blue-eyed, jawline-of-stone handsome, crazy successful, and has more money in his bank account than my brain can fathom.
Deflower me, please? I said.
Yeah. Send help.

Enjoyable Read
I am a huge fan of the dynamic duo that is Max Monroe...but I’m going to rate this one a solid 4 stars instead of my usual 5 ⭐️ accolade. The story was enjoyable, hilarious at times and overall entertaining. I also was happy to see little glimpses and “guest appearances” from several past beloved characters. My main complaint is the hero’s constant use of “kid” as his term of endearment for the heroine. I didn’t mind it terribly in the beginning and even understood his reasoning behind it. However, as his feelings grew and evolved, he continued (and often) calling her “kid.” Maybe it’s just me but it’s so unsexy and affected the overall dynamic and chemistry I felt for the main characters. It was like dousing all the heat with a perpetual bucket of ice cold water. This love story was definitely a “slow burn” and I’m ok with that - BUT (no spoiler intended here but be forewarned if you’re sensitive about learning certain details in advance) at the end of the book they’ve proclaimed their love, he’s asked her to move in and she’s still having to beg him to finally “de-virginize” her...that just seems off to me and honestly, unrealistic...again, just my opinion. Additionally, I felt like the book ended a little abruptly- and right when they were finally getting together for real - I wanted more from the epilogue. I do want to reiterate that overall, I did like the story. Max Monroe have my utmost respect as writers and I’ll be a forever fan, of that I’m sure. Oh...and narration was really good! I especially enjoyed Nelson Hobbs’ performance!!

Forgettable at best, stupid at least
It took forever for anything to happen between two lame characters. I’m so tired of the clueless virgin females, and when they’re 24 years old it’s just socially/sexually bizarre and pathetic. Then when she’s trying to woo this supposedly sexy, savvy beautiful billionaire businessman Brother’s best friend it’s just absurd. The girl hasn’t even given a bj. And the narrators were totally off and unsexy too. She sounded like she had almost a faint lisp or something, or just sounded like a dorky chubby geek or something and the guy was fine but sounded like he could’ve been her father—kind of stiff and formal. And the writer used the stupidest euphemisms for all the curse words for all the characters—like the dorky virgin girl and the savvy billionaire man and the dork’s father all think and speak the same geeky way—‘Cheese and fries’ instead of Jesus Christ—that sort of thing. I don’t know if the author is old, or a dork or if she just wrote the book for dorks or I just didn’t like this particular book but my golly gee willakers this one was a waste of time even on 2.0x speed you betcha! (And yes I’m doing that to make fun of the nerdiness of this book).

Not impressive
This wasn't a story I could get into. The heroine was not someone I found myself able to root for and the hero was far from swoon worthy. I have to say if you are looking for a romantic, heated billionaire romance, you might want to skip this one. It felt really phoned in at best with characters that you can't relate to or really care if they get together.
