Publisher's Summary

Simple. Neat. Orderly. A place for everything, and everything in its place.

Karmen Handel's life growing up had been anything but quiet and simple. A deadbeat father, a mother who never wanted her, and a grandmother who could care less created the perfect recipe to ensure Karmen built a wall around herself and never let anyone in.

When her past comes back to haunt her, Karmen has no one to help her. Until Nickel.

Complicated. Dirty. Restless. Live to ride. Ride to live.

Nickel Cunningham lives free with the brothers he calls family and has never craved anything more until he met Karmen. The shy, quiet nurse who cares for his grandma caught his eye months ago, and he hasn't been able to get her off his mind since. Nickel knows what he wants, but he's never had to fight for it before. Until Karmen. Contains mature themes.

Great series

Fantastic book I now have a new author to binge on I love it when there is not only a male and female narrator but when they can also do a decent other gender voice it just makes the book even better

Fallen Lords

I love Nickel. I loved this book and the alpha man had a big soft spot for Captain. Can’t wait to read the next in series.

Nicel

I absolutely love the Fallen Lords MC. I have read these books several times and enjoyed them every time. Listening to this story is another experience of its own; its so much better. Winter Travers certainly knows how to write an entertaining, and enjoyable story.
The narrators were great. I enjoyed every single moment.

🌻Kind of a disappointment, actually!🌻

I guess I must have gotten caught up, in the hype. The cover indicated that Winter Travers was a best selling author so I expected so much more. First, I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviewers who wrote about their irritation, with the Heroine. Her insecurities were way over the top. In addition, the Hero characteristics did not seem to be those of a hard core 1% biker; he was way too sappy. However, the worst element was the plot. It was all over the place. For example, the Hero started out with very specific feelings, about his club, and had a clear goal to start a new chapter in a different town. Sometime during the story( the reader/listener is not told when or why) that goal just disappears. The Hero and many other members of the club also have issues with the work they have been doing. Sometime during the book for which there is no explanation, the jobs disappear and so does the issue? I can’t be the only listener that was bothered by this. I could go on, but what’s the point.

This book was included in the Escape package, which is the only reason I gave it a shot. I would have never spent a credit on this, due to its short length, alone. In addition, had I bought it on sale, I would have returned it, the writing was juvenile, at best.

The Narrator Killed it for me

The story wasn't bad, but the jerky, over pronunciation of every word was irritating to me.

Author to watch...

This book had plenty steam, romance, comedy and action, well written with a feisty female lead and a sexy alpha male who isn't a d*ickwad. I really enjoyed it and I think this is definitely an author to watch because with a few changes would be a bestseller author. The biggest thing I would tweak is, it needs more plot... add some twists or mystery, lead up to the intial romance a bit more and the bedroom scenes in this book is where the true talent lies, they are in alot of romance books but few writers actually do them well imo, especially where the male lead says and thinks such incredibly sexy things. However I would extend them a bit, because other than the first few, later on they, while still steamy, felt a little rushed and the heat should always be well spaced and build.

Um

I liked the story in theory. Carmen’s quirkinesses was understandable in the beginning but 2 hours in it IRRITATED me. As a nurse she could’ve afforded therapy and truly needed it because some of her insecurities bordered on the ridiculous. I understood feeling inadequate because of her upbringing but she repeatedly made assumptions instead of asking questions for clarification. Her inability to understand that he couldn’t discuss “club business” with her was no different than her not being able to discuss patient issues with him. She repeatedly childishly acted out for the STUPIDEST reasons and endangered herself with her foolishness. Nickel was a bit of a tyrant but at least he was still likable.

Deja Vu copyright much.

So sum of the first chapter is a repeat of Bink Cummings Hopelessly. I'm not sure who copyrighted whom but it crazy how alike they are. Either way I wasn't into that book or this one once the girl lost her personality because she so into a guy. Rag. But if that's you thing. Couldn't finish good luck.
