Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease challenges conventional cardiology by posing a compelling, revolutionary idea—that we can, in fact, abolish the heart disease epidemic in this country by changing our diets. Drawing on the groundbreaking results of his twenty-year nutritional study, Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr., a former surgeon, researcher, and clinician at the Cleveland Clinic, convincingly argues that a plant-based, oil-free diet can not only prevent and stop the progression of heart disease, but also reverse its effects.

He draws key lessons from core Darwinian concepts, mixing vivid examples from the natural world with compelling stories of good and bad investing decisions—including his own.

Good health is a journey not a sprint
- By Vijay Kumar on 11-04-24
Publisher's Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
This is the ultimate manual for living better and longer.
For all its successes, mainstream medicine has failed to make much progress against the diseases of ageing that kill most people: heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's disease, and type 2 diabetes. Too often, it intervenes with treatments too late, prolonging lifespan at the expense of quality of life. Dr Peter Attia, the world's top longevity expert who is featured on Chris Hemsworth's National Geographic documentary Limitless, believes we must replace this outdated framework with a personalised, proactive strategy for longevity.
This isn't 'biohacking,' it's science: a well-founded strategic approach to extending lifespan while improving our physical, cognitive and emotional health, making each decade better than the one before. With Outlive's practical advice and roadmap, you can plot a different path for your life, one that lets you outlive your genes to make each decade better than the one before.

Very insightful
Peter does a great job in communicating science in an effective way without over simplifying and losing nuance yet without getting too technical. Great work. Highly recommend.

Information dense.
A great book distilling current knowledge on various aspects of longevity. but more rigor in emotional intelligence would have helped.
a lot of actionable items from this book.

The latest science on how to live healthier for longer
Peter achieves the impossible. Rounds up the latest science without fluff or dumbing anything down. Yet he synthesizes it into simple actionable advice that could add healthy years to your life!
If you're impatient, and have heard all his podcasts like me, feel free to skip the initial few chapters laying out the conceptual framework for Medicine 3.9

Reasonably good book
Having read many books that want to make you fit, what attracted me to this book? The credentials of the first author. He is well qualified to share his experience and knowledge in this field. Coming very close to making the language quite technical, the second author (as is acknowledged by himself) saved him from killing the book on this grounds. The language of the book and its style is quite encouraging, persuasive and even insightful. The large direction taken of guiding the readers to Medicine 3.0 is very welcome. The authors have proved to be very successful in this. The narration was also friendly and engaging. His personal battle against the mental health challenges and sharing lessons that he learnt therefrom can go both ways. For some it may prove to be an unnecessary addition thereby lengthening the book much. But to the scientific minded who will know the significance of mental health when someone wants to talk about health in general is a quality inclusion. Overall I enjoyed the book though felt a tad long.
