About this listen

"What makes Piyush Pandey an extraordinary advertising man, friend, partner and leader of men? How does he manage to exude childlike enthusiasm, and bring such deep commitment to his work? You’ve seen most of the things that Piyush Pandey has seen in his life. You’ve seen cobblers, carpenters, cricketers, trains, villages, towns and cities. What makes Piyush different is the perspective from which he views the same things you’ve seen, his ability to store all that he sees into some recesses of his brain and then retrieve them at short notice when he needs to. That ability combined with his love, passion and understanding of advertising and of consumers make him the master storyteller that he is. In Pandeymonium, Piyush talks about his influences, right from his childhood in Jaipur and being a Ranji cricketer, to his philosophy, failures and lessons in advertising in particular and life in general. Lucid, inspiring and unputdownable, this memoir gives you an inside peek into the mind and creative genius of the man who defines advertising in India. There are some flaws in the narration and editing which cannot be overlooked. There are a couple of instances where a phrase gets repeated consecutively due to a miss in the edit. The narration is so bad that it does not fit the character of Piyush Pandey nor does it keep the book alive. Feels like a news report.

Piyush is a great adman. Each advertisement he has created is stunning. There is a youtube channel that has all the ads mentioned in this book.

But, did I get any stunning insights about Piyush from this book? NO! Did I get some insights into how a great Adman thinks NO! Did I get some insight into how the advertising industry works? NO!

This is a book about Piyush and his connection with his roots, cricket, and friends which has enabled him to use his talent with freedom. If you want a narration on this. Go for it!

Thoroughly enjoyed each and every chapter of this audiobook. Even though I am not from marketing or advertising background, I could connect perfectly.

While being honest in his opinions, he tried to drive home the fact that observing is underrated skill in ad business. When creator shares the story behind the idea, I believe they demystify their aura.
