Die Tiere werden dadurch ruhiger und weniger aggressiv. Der portugiesische Arzt António Caetano de Abreu Freire Egas Moniz führte diesen Eingriff erstmals bei aggressiven Menschen durch und erhielt 1949 dafür den Nobelpreis. Jedoch ist die Methode aufgrund der Nebenwirkungen umstritten...
