Publisher's Summary

Claire Gracen's life is picture perfect. Her career as a marketing director is on the brink of being legendary, and her marriage to her high school sweetheart has never been stronger. No, wait. It has. It used to be amazing and fulfilling, but one day Claire realizes that she's been living a lie and her best friend and husband have committed the ultimate betrayal. Broken and depressed, Claire is in need of something new - new city, new job, new friends. When she happens to attract the interest of the sexiest man she's ever met, a man significantly younger than her, she immediately turns him down - only to later discover that this man is Jonathan Statham, self-made billionaire and CEO of Statham Industries. Her boss.

Jonathan Statham is unlike any man she's met before. He's used to getting whatever he wants - whenever he wants, and he isn't about to take no for an answer.

Great context of older woman, younger man

Give me a read about forty-somethings and I'm in, it's such a tangible, refreshing context for me. I felt totally engaged with MID LIFE LOVE because it also included a favourite setting of mine....office romance. This book is about a 40 year old divorcee who has lost herself in her heartache of the last 4 years. Claire is incredulous at the attentions of Jonathan Statham, her 28 year old boss and CEO of the company. She cannot understand his attraction to her and thwarts each of his approaches.

This book is rich with fabulous side characters in Claire's daughters, they made me laugh and brought such tangibility to the storyline. I never felt like I knew where the story was going and this was such fun to devour. The many twists and turns kept me hooked even though I felt the last 5% was rushed. All the characters were well developed and the writing just flowed. I need more from these two and I hope my desire is fulfilled

I hate the female lead

She would have to be one of the worse females ever. Why on earth any guy would try and want her is unbelievable. What a joke when she calls Jonathon immature, she really needs to look in the mirror.

Annoying heroine

Honestly I liked it until the last 1/3 - the heroine was SUCH a wimp.... and totally unable to grow a backbone or communicate. Yeah, there's a 'happily ever after', but her inability to handle her own feelings was a huge turn off and made the end of the book extremely difficult to actually get to.

Entertaining and well written characters

This is a good story and worth reading; however, I probably skipped forward more than an hour during the last 1/3 of the book. The ending was really expanded and very repetitive. With that being said, don't skip past more than 2 or 3 minutes as you could miss important information (squeezed in between repeated angst).

Reading the second book now! This author personalizes the characters and you feel like you know them.

Story had potential

I really wanted to like this story. It had potential but why make the heroin whinny, weak, and insecure? Sure she had reasons but get over it already! These are the traits I don't like in female character. I mean the guy showed so much affection and still not enough. This story had potential. however, the narrators did excellent job and their voices kept me listening. I didn't want to give this story low rating because its still good just not great. I recommend it!

Claire was soooo annoyjng

I’ve read annoying characters but this girl was over the top! Always whinnying and always crying about something Urgh. I like Whitney G and I’m listening to her books one by one but this is the only book that I found myself rolling at my eyes at Claire’s immaturity. So annoying!

Just so so...

The male narrator ruined this story for me. HATED his voice! Way too high for a male lead character. The female was only a shade better. As you can tell the voices make the story for me. There really wasn't much depth to this book, no twist. All just very predictable. The 16 year old twins sounded like 10 year olds. This I know because I have one now. All in all could have been much better. I suggest reading Meaghan March.

Older woman and younger man!

I love everything bt about Whitney G!
Clair is a beautiful, divorced single mother of twin teens. She has relocated from the east coast to California.
Her boss is Gorgeous and very attracked to each her.
At work their chemistry is on fire. They each have a painful past!
I love this storyline and the characters. I enjoyed the twists and turns of this book. I also love the Narrator C.J. Bloom, who is my favorite.
