Publisher's Summary

The #1 personal finance book of all time... translated into dozens of languages and sold around the world.

Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert's story of growing up with two dads - his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad - and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you.

20 Years... 20/20 Hindsight
In the 20th anniversary edition of this classic, Robert offers an update on what we’ve seen over the past 20 years related to money, investing, and the global economy. Sidebars throughout the book will take listeners “fast forward” - from 1997 to today - as Robert assesses how the principles taught by his rich dad have stood the test of time.

In many ways, the messages of Rich Dad Poor Dad, messages that were criticized and challenged two decades ago, are more meaningful, relevant and important today than they were 20 years ago.

As always, listeners can expect that Robert will be candid, insightful... and continue to rock more than a few boats in his retrospective.

Will there be a few surprises? Count on it.

Rich Dad Poor Dad...

  • Explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to become rich
  • Challenges the belief that your house is an asset
  • Shows parents why they can't rely on the school system to teach their kids about money
  • Defines once and for all an asset and a liability
  • Teaches you what to teach your kids about money for their future financial success

Additional material necessary

The book requires you to refer some tables and figures. The Audiobook should provide these materials in some pdf

Definately Worth Listening to!

Really felt that I should have read or listened to it before. It talks about the importance of financial education/intelligence and how crucial it is to learn it in your earlier stages of life.

How can you build up your passive and portfolio income from your earned income.
I would highly recommend reading or Listening to this audio book.
Though it doesn't specifically talk about passive income ways or about creating businesses. But it does talk about his own examples and how he achieved massive wealth through this and was able to retire by age 47. So, it is overall very effective and worth listening to.

Good book

Narrator has good voice. I read the book along and found that he made some mistakes in reading it ( he said 6 months for six years in the last chapter, cannot remember others)

Must read if you are "Garib"

It was good and so many practical financial knowledge has shared by Robert which
you can't even learn in financial institutions.

Dope book to begin your journey of financial literacy

I just downloaded the book and only in the first few chapters but I’m already learning things that I haven’t heard before! I love it so far and recommend to anyone looking to get out of the “rat race”. Also take a look at the pdf files included with the book. In order to do so go to the desktop version of your audible account and go to library, there is where you’ll be able to download the PDFs

if you've read the original, this is too similar

I wouldn't recommend getting this if you've read the original since it seems like the only changes are a bit in the beginning and breaks in between chapters to summarize and review. If you have trouble reflecting on what you've read, then the review sections may be of more use to you. It's still an amazing book and this is the definitive version if you're just getting it for the first time.

Great Book - No Access to PDF of tables & graphs

The book is great and so is the performance of the narrator. But without access to the PDF of the information they mention in some of the chapters, I feel as though I'm missing out on something.

Good book, but terribly cut for audible

This book is pretty good, and confirms a lot of things I’ve come to realize on my own over the years. I must say the first 2/3 or so of the book is really solid, but it gets less insightful and the advice more sketchy toward the end.

Unfortunately, the audible version is cut terribly. It makes no sense to have the study questions from chapter n at the start of chapter n + 1. These should be totally separate chapters in an audiobook. Really disappointed that audible screwed this up so bad.

In short: Be privileged and greedy

Very little substance, it's mostly platitudes designed to sell additional products. Could summarized with the following: taxes are evil, evade them. The poor deserve it, condemn them. take advantage of people who are struggling, and profit from their pain.

Great advice

Great advice, but my file kept repeating the same things...glitchy throughout. I could have been smoother, but seemed repetitive to me.

Never Gets Boring

I've read this book several times and I listen to it all the time in the car.

I struggle with some audio books but the narrator really emphasises the points that needed.

If you're interested in listening to self help finance books then this will not disappoint.

A blog post...stretched in to a book

I have been putting off reading/listening to this book for a while. I enjoy nonfiction books to learn new perspectives, but I found Rich Dad painfully slow and vague. Each chapter feels like it is building to a big reveal and conclusion, only to end with a repetitive summary of the build up.

Not useful and very repetitive

Just keep talking about house is not an asset, don’t work for money, make money work for you. Very repetitive and it’s all talk. Doesn’t actually tell you anything useful - all common sense. Wouldn’t recommend.

Mind blown! I once was blind, but now I see.

If you are not a genius don’t worry. You’ll get more from this if you’re like me “The Poor and middle class”. I feel like a different person. I feel like I can do anything with the new knowledge I’ve learned. Thank you.
