Carl von Ossietzky (1889-1938) Journalist, Schriftsteller, Pazifist. Ob gegen links, rechts oder die Mitte, er kämpfte unabhängig mit seinen Artikeln für den Erhalt der Demokratie. 1924 gab es im Mai und im Dezember Reichstagswahlen. Etwas ungewohnt für die neudemokratischen Deutschlande. Die Mitglieder des Reichstags führt Ossietzky einzeln vor. Eine fröhliche Jonglage mit den öffentlichen Daten!

Die Gründung des Reichsbanners wird begrüßt, die Ausführung jedoch kritisiert. Eine Reihe bittersüßer Miniaturen aus dem 24er Berlinalltag lockern die ansonsten ernsten und scharfsinnigen Artikel aus "Montag Morgen", "Das Tagebuch" und der "Berliner Volkszeitung" ua auf.
