Publisher's Summary

Shattergirl, Earth's first lesbian guardian - a brilliant but aloof alien superheroine who can hurl and destroy large objects - is refusing to save people and has gone off the grid. Lena Martin, the street-smart tracker with a silver tongue and a disdain for the rogue guardians she chases, has only days to bring her home. As the pair clash heatedly, masks begin to crack and brutal secrets are exposed that could shatter them both.

Boring

I love Abby Craden but this book is typical lesbian persecution. The evil straight white man, evil corporations, persecuted people of color, gays, different in any way. I just wanted a romance featuring a lesbian superhero

Lee Winter shakes up the hero romance novel

Leave it to Lee Winter to take the trope and turn it in its ear. Who is the hero, who saves whom? Who ends up with the girl?

This book is great. A very different take on the first contact scenario. Lee Winter dives deep into societal mores. She points out how much we all suffer when hate and prejudice rule.

Abby Craden does a wonderful job of narrating this novel , including alien curse words.

Enjoyable and thought provoking.

As good as I remembered

I read this in book form and I really enjoyed it, but I needed enough time to pass to want a reread in the form of this audio.
It's dark holding up a mirror to humanity, yet manages to end on an optimistic view. I liked it very much.

I was pleasantly surprised

I was skeptical to listen to this one, considering it was a book about a super hero and that isn’t typically what I read. However, I loved the angle of this book. Some of it was predictable but the ending was perfect.

Sharing your truth can heal shattered hearts.

I loved this story and Abby Craven is always giving voice to words so you feel them. This is the one book of Lee Winter that I thought I might not enjoy. So wrong! A group of aliens land on earth pre WW1 and to survive they become guardians for the humans. Their lives are controlled and dominated for the next 100+ years. Nyah (Shattergirl) and Lena (A tracker) are strong woman on a collision course that will change both their shattered lives. The dialogue is full of truth sharing, trust issues and a connection so beautiful as it unfolds. I kick myself for waiting so long to read this. I cried, snickered and just felt my heart in my throat. I love this alien fiction story that hit too close to a world we might live in. It dud give a very beautiful unexpected HEA but still had the hot of sensual pleasure. So very good.

Seriously good. Seriously.

I‘ve listened to a lot of queer romances, and it’s so refreshing when an author actually brings a new storyline to the genre. This book is great, just get it.

Shattered not your usual love story

I have read/listened to all of Lee Winters books and have never ever been disappointed. This is the first Sci-fi I have read in a very long time. The parallels to real life are staggering and even though this was written in 2017 it shows elements of presentience of what is happening in the USA today. Instead of the leader of the guardians being a used car salesman substitute a Reality show host as president.
I thoroughly recommend this book to any who have not read anything by this talented author you are in for a wild and exciting ride. Enjoy I did.

Great remix of Superhero Genre

Characters are well written, dynamic, and amazing. As always, Abby Craden delivers on the reading. Here vocals make the characters so distinguishable that it's surprising that it's the same person reading.

Another fine Lee Winter tale

Super hero characters, as imperfect characters, living in a dystopian world on earth after losing their own planet.

Abby Craden has narrated many audiobooks in lesbian romance genre, but I prefer so of the other narrators who've performed Lee Winter's stories as audiobooks.

Subtext

As with so many fantasy books, there is a considerable amount of subtext to this story. As usual, Winter has done an excellent of going beyond giving a story with great characters.
