Tarzan helps La to reclaim her throne of Opar!
Tarzan the Invincible is the book 14 in the original series by Edgar Rice Burroughs. The story opens with the ape man monkey companion little Nkima discovering a plot of communist sympathizers planning to rob the gold vaults of ancient Opar to create havoc in Eastern Africa.
Naturally Tarzan and his allies jump right into the adventure along with La the queen and high priestess of Opar who is deposed and has to regain her throne.
This is an excellent adventure story. Despite using familiar locations and characters, ERB keeps it entertaining with colorful characterization of the antagonists, awesome actions scenes with Tarzan.
The audiobook version is the ERB Inc authorised edition and the Joe Jusko cover awesome, featuring a key action scene from the story. Ben Dooley does a good job of narrating the story
