About this listen

Bagpuss, dear Bagpuss, old fat furry cat-puss, wake up, wake up and look at this thing that I bring...

Bagpuss, created by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin, is no ordinary cat.

In Emily's magical shop, Bagpuss the cloth cat and his friends wake up whenever Emily brings them something to mend. Professor Yaffle, Madeleine, Gabriel, and the mice all work together to discover the hidden stories behind the objects Emily finds. Bagpuss leads them with a gentle touch, guiding them through music, stories, and a bit of fun. The shop is full of wonder, where even the simplest item can spark a grand adventure.

Emily finds a broken toy elephant and brings it to Bagpuss. The group quickly get to work! Professor Yaffle shares tales of elephants from faraway lands, while Madeleine and Gabriel create songs that bring the elephant's jungle adventures to life. The mice, as always, add their playful antics, imagining all sorts of silly scenarios. A story of fun, imagination, friendship and adventure, where even a broken elephant has a story to tell.
