About this listen

Hayes Davis is America's sweetheart, the #1 hockey player in the country, and my fake fiancé. Simple, right? It would be, if my betrothed were anyone else.

But it turns out America's sweetheart is arrogant, selfish, and a guy I have no intentions of letting break my heart again.

It was never supposed to happen. But then one night changes everything.

Now, he's not only my pretend fiancé but my very real baby daddy.

How can two people who hate each other pull off the lie of a lifetime while figuring out how to raise a child together? Everything between us was supposed to be fake, but I'm not pretending anymore.

Contains mature themes.

What happens when you get stuck with your mortal enemy on a romantic yacht, stranded in the middle of nowhere, all alone? One night, one drunken mistake, and a whole lot of unexpected feelings.

The Enemy Trap was such a sweet read, and honestly, I loved that there wasn’t a clear villain in the story. Sure, there was miscommunication (because what’s a romance without a little drama?), but no evil exes or manipulative side characters, and that made it feel refreshingly real.

I was completely hooked by the setup and the tropes, and for about 90% of the story, it delivered exactly what I wanted. But the last bit, especially the miscommunication part, felt a little forced. I get that some tension was needed, but it didn’t quite blend naturally with the rest of the story.

Though accidental pregnancy isn’t really my cup of tea, I have to admit the tropes blended really well here. The author made it feel believable and emotionally grounded instead of overly dramatic, which I appreciated.

I also loved that the characters didn’t overthink or dance around their feelings too much. They knew what they wanted and went for it, which made their connection even more satisfying to read about.

The romance itself was very swoony, full of soft moments and chemistry that built beautifully as the story went on.

Now, let’s talk about Hayes. Because honestly, how could I not? He’s considerate, smitten, and undeniably hot, the perfect mix for a book boyfriend.

If you love sports romance and can’t resist a good enemies to lovers setup, The Enemy Trap might just be your next favorite read.
