Story
After pop star Ryan De Luna praises Maisy Harrison’s YouTube cover of his classic hit, he offers Maisy and her fledgling band the opportunity of a lifetime: to be his opening act. Music may be Maisy’s life, but she has one ground rule: never date a musician. That goes double for a heartbreaker like Ryan. If only she didn’t feel so vulnerable to his larger-than-life charm. And maybe now more than ever, when he asks for her help to shake off his playboy image. How can she resist playing the part of his fake girlfriend for the duration of the tour?

I asked for his criteria for bed buddies - that's the PG version. He swore at me and said he didn’t do groupies. And just like that, our friendship was off to a great start. Reese Forster was the starting point guard for the Seattle Thunder. Gorgeous. Cocky. Loved by the nation. He’s also attending preseason basketball training camp where I used to work.
Publisher's Summary
From the bestselling author of the #Lovestruck novels comes a rousing romance about following your dreams, second chances, and playing the game of love.
Disgraced college quarterback Logan Hunt was on his way to NFL stardom when he messed up big-time. Now the Texas star player with a bad temper has a new option: Seattle’s EOL College - as in End of the Line, to his fellow misfit recruits. It’s Logan’s last chance. If he can follow the rules. No parties, no fighting, no swearing, and oh, no dating the coach’s daughter, Jess. Simple. Yeah, right. For Logan, there has never been a rule he’s more tempted to break.
The deal is “just friends.” The pretty, confident, and fiercely smart math whiz is fine with pizza, tutoring, and keeping Logan in line. But the closer Jess gets, the more receptive she is to his warm heart and spirit - not to mention his irresistible off-field passes. With defenses down, they’re both heading into the danger zone.
It’s more than thrilling. It’s love. It’s also a game changer that could sideline Logan’s NFL goals - and more important, a future with Jess. But dreams are worth fighting for, right?

Awww
This is such a great story and a wonderful way to start a new series. Jess and Logan are so funny and cute together. I found it interesting that characters from other series were mentioned in this one.
The narration was overall great EXCEPT for the swap of chapters 24 & 25. At first I thought chapter 24 had been skipped altogether. But then when the narration of chapter 25 ended and chapter 24 began I was disappointed but not as much as I was before when I thought it had been skipped.
I guess Audio editing was not completed.

Very bad
This was bad. So corny and full of cliches. The last third of the book was so predictable and boring, I was rolling my eyes so hard. The beginning was good, but as the story went on my enjoyment started to vanish.
I didn't like Jess at all, and Logan was sIightly better. We were supposed to think that Jess is so nice and quirky, and that's she's so much better than Danielle, but they were the same, maybe Jess was even worse with all her comments and remarks. I also think it was unnecessary to make Ben a loser. It would be so much better if he was a decent guy, and the love between Jess and Logan would be much more beIiveable.
I have to say that I really liked that Jess beat Logan at minigolf, because usually in romance novels, if the couple competes, the guy wins and I really liked that it wasn't the case here. Also, I liked that Jess paid for herself, and sometimes even for Logan. It was refreshing.
I didn't like the female narrator. Her interpretation felt so bland and boring.

Sweet College Sports Romance!
The Friend Zone is a sweet college sports romance, featuring a reformed football player whom falls for his math tutor who is also his coach’s daughter.
The book is narrated by Whitney Dykhouse and Scott Merriman. I had not heard their work before and will be on the look out for more of them in the future. They did a beautiful job voicing these characters.
Logan and Jess have amazing chemistry. Their friendship begins while Logan tries to help Jess date another guy she thinks she has a crush on. Even though he knows he is quickly falling for her he continues to try helping her just to spend time with her. Through the time they spend together the more they learn and fall for the other and develop a deep emotional connection. The romance was very clean and I would have preferred a bit more steam which is the reason for my 4 star rating, otherwise I loved it and look forward to Logan’s best friend and roommate Bash’s book in Just a Boyfriend.

error?
The story was good, a few good laughs. The narrator's were great. However, there seemed to be some sort of error with chapter 23 and 24...its like chapter 24 was supposed to be halfway through chapter 23..but it wasn't which threw me off for a minute

This book has replaced my old number one as the WORST book I have ever listened to. There should be a disclaimer of, "Interesting for girls between 16 and 18." Was it bad! I hope it was a freebee and I didn't spend a credit on it.

WOW!!!
Absolutely loved it. Beautiful story narrated perfectly. They could not have picked or performed the characters voices better. The story was sweet and heartfelt without being too sappy. It had me smiling and laughing from start to finish.
Hands down the most enjoyable audio book so far. Do yourself a favour and listen, you will not regret this purchase.
