Publisher's Summary

Daniel: I suck at relationships and don't trust anyone, but there are reasons for that. For one thing, every person I've ever cared about has let me down. The only recent exception: O'Leary's town veterinarian...my new best friend.

I came to O'Leary for a fresh start. To pare things down to essentials. To forget about the failures in my past. The last thing I need is complications, and most definitely not a boyfriend.

Julian: I've lived in O'Leary my entire life and learned to fly under the radar a long time ago. I do what's expected, say what's expected, and keep to myself as much as possible. It's a hell of a lot simpler spending my time working with animals than trying to interact with actual people. The one unlikely exception: the gorgeous guy who moved to a cabin just outside of town and somehow became my best friend.

But friendships are complicated, and one morning I find myself accidentally telling the whole town the biggest lie of my life. Which is how Daniel Michaelson, my very straight, very hot best friend becomes my fake boyfriend, even though he's most definitely not my lover.

from friends to lovers 😍

My second review for today.
It's review time 🎧
The Gift: Love in O’Leary Series, Book 2 (Unabridged)
By May Archer
Narrated by Alexander Cendese, Iggy Toma

Narrator score🎧 ; both narrators as always are Incredible. I loved the voices of the vet family. Every brother got a very nice voice with character that suits the personality.

Level of steam🔥: the book didn't started hot. It took time. The friendship between the two was the main issue. And I loved it. It was a slow burn but a very good one.

Level of anxiety and sadness0😱😢: yet again as the first book in the series the book isn't sad per say .... but the feeling are deep and I'm a cry baby so I shed a tear or 20 🙈

The book itself📖: I loved the book. Much more than the first one I'll admit. The story was built on friendship first and foremost. The reason they started they relationship was because of act of loyalty protectiveness and friendship. And it was a wonderful slow burn. Don't get me wrong when they got to the hot part, it was HOT. But it wasn't the main issue at all. And I adored it

Hotness, Characters, Plot, and Performance: Oh My

I bought this book because of the galactic, stellar ratings by listeners. I was not disappointed at all. There was the hotness of the two main subjects. Okay, there was also the depth and personal character of the main and secondary actors. The brilliant dialogue was brilliantly performed by Alexander and Iggy (I feel like I know them now). And, the plot was multifaceted and captivating. I would be dishonest if I did not mention that the romantic (sexual) content seemed to spring from the mind of a woman. Well, it did, so no huge surprise there, but it was not a distraction. I enjoyed every minute of getting to know Julian and Daniel. I'm now looking for more books by May Archer.

Biased Review
I have a soft spot for stories featuring a guy who thinks he straight and learns that maybe he's a bit crooked. Plus, I rather like the small town vibe of this series.

Excellent story- even better with narration!!!

O’Leary’s saga continues with the mysterious Daniel and town vet Julian. One straight, one gay. Shoved into a mistaken ‘fake’ relationship. May Archer does a fantastic job at creating amazingly memorable characters who pop off the page. There is just enough interesting plot (and side plots) to keep the story going at a constant pace. The town itself has great side characters who you get to know while basking in the main story. Iggy Toma and Alexander Cendese are two of my new favorite voice actors- the way they portray each character is spot on, they make each come alive! I don’t know if it’s the author/narrator combo or just the skill of each, but it is pretty amazing to hear this book in audio!

I enjoyed the story of Daniel and Julian

Its definitely worth a listen. I hope there relationship evolves and they are mentioned in the up coming stories.
Book 3 is the book that caught my attention but I had to start with the 1st book.
The 1st and 2nd books were not disappointing! Thank You May Archer for creating the town of O'Leary's and the people in the town.
I love getting lost in a good story, now on to book 3 I'm so anxious to see what happens with Constantine.

Top 3 Contender!

This book truly spoke to me. I absolutely loved this storyline in the O'Leary series. I think it may actually be one my favorite books of all time. The main characters were amazing, relatable, and believable. Nice to read about the Bi-sexual aspect of our community. I will most likely read it multiple times. Definitely a must read!!

Give yourself a gift, no two ; Audible and M Arche

Being a sap is sometimes a frowned upon thing. But, being a sap, when it's you, your audible library and a new book, like the O'Leary series, well it's ok. it's a choice. It's a guilty pleasure. Enjoy it. May Archer built a town, filled with characters, that come alive inyour ears, as the story is performed by the talented voice artists... Grab the series. Blane the pandemic, but let your mind take flight. To O'Leary.

Never Disappointed!

As usual, May Archer doesn’t disappoint.
Absolutely loved the main characters, and as I have listened to the previous audiobook, ‘The Fall’, characters from that novel are cameo’d in this book.
The storyline is fluid and mixed, and from working out who J D Pritchard was from the the very first hint, it gets the reader pumped throughout the book as to when ‘the penny will drop’ with Julian!! 🤦‍♂️😱😁😊

Overall it’s a 10/10 for me, ticks all the boxes and definitely steamy 🧖‍♂️ in all the right places (scorching hot🥵 - definitely NOT for young adult readers - so beware)
Definitely not disappointed, in fact, exhilarated!
