We harbor roughly the same number of microbes as we have cells. This complex ecosystem is crucial to our health, affecting many processes including immunity, child development, and bone density regulation. Research in this area has exploded, and in this audiobook, we highlight some of the most exciting work on how the microbiome develops, its influence on brain and behavior, and implications in both contributing to and treating various disorders.

What a revelation!

I had read other books on Gut microbiome and their impact, but didn't realise that this is would not be on the same lines. It is an amalgamation of different authors publishing their findings on microbiome present not just in our gut, but other places also. There is so much shared about microbiome and diseases, impact from childbirth to old age. Diversity in Food is such an important aspect of having a good microbiome all over and an improved immunity. The number of tests run on C section birthed mice with a sterile microbiome is massive, and i have come to appreciate these animals with a different respect now - They may define the future healthcare options that humans will use. Do read it if you want to know what's inside you and how it impacts you. I wish there was a more recent version available. This is from 2019, and since then things may have progressed a lot. nonetheless, time well spent!
