About this listen

Winner of the British Book Awards, Lifetime Achievement Award, 2007.
They kidnapped him in a small town in Brazil. He had changed his name and his appearance, but they were sure they had their man. Four years before, he had been called Patrick S. Lanigan. He had died in a car crash in February 1992. His gravestone lay in a cemetery in Biloxi, Mississippi. He had been a partner at an up and coming law firm, had a pretty wife, a new daughter, and a bright future. Six weeks after his death, $90 million had disappeared from the law firm. It was then that his partners knew he was still alive.©1997 Belfry Holdings, Inc. (P)2005 Random House Audiobooks

Grisham has truly woven an amazing tale with so many intricacies. The plot is so tight. The book starts slow but takes so much of speed in the last few chapters and leaves you stunned at the end of the story.

The plot was good, but the presentation is excellent. Overall I had a breezy experience like walking along a beach. Loved all the Southern accents.

Good story, Great Narration

Sounds right

Suspense and story build up was good. Story felt unreal and not possible. Too simplistic a solution.

Plot was difficult to digest.
