The Perfect Waltz is the second book in the Merridew Sisters series, and just like the first one, it swept me in with its heart, humor, and emotional depth.

What sets this one apart from Book 1 is the complexity of the characters—especially Sebastian and his sisters. Their arcs aren’t just well-developed; they’re the soul of this story. Watching them grow, struggle, and ultimately find healing added so much weight and warmth to the plot.

One thing I really appreciate about Anne Gracie’s writing—both here and in Book 1—is how she steers the narrative away from the typical beauty standards so often found in historical romances. Instead, the focus remains on character, emotion, and genuine connection. That shift feels refreshing and makes the romance all the more authentic.

Overall, The Perfect Waltz is a solid and heartfelt addition to the Merridew series. If the next two books carry the same emotional richness and thoughtful character work, I already know I’ll be a fan of the whole series.
