About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

One of the best-known and most beloved historical novelists, Georgette Heyer, as ever, captures a whole new audience's heart.

Stepping into the wrong carriage at a Sussex village, Elinor Rochdale is swept up in a thrilling and dangerous adventure. Overnight the would-be governess becomes mistress of a ruined estate and partner in a secret conspiracy to save a family's name. By midnight, she is a bride, by dawn, a widow.

A typically thrilling and sweeping tale of romance and tragedy, The Reluctant Widow is Georgette Heyer at her best - the undisputed queen of historical romance.

Daon Broni is simply an excellent narrator. He brings the story to life like none other. I would love to listen to more books from him but incidentally this is the only book he has to his credit in Audible. Hope this review reaches him and Audible.

The Reluctant Widow remains my most favourite audio book.

more audiobooks from Daon Broni pls.

There's no doubt that all the books written by Georgette Heyer as very good. She was the last of authoress who wrote period pieces which were so good at catching the essence of that time. All those who write now can be only called as author of seductive novels with no grasp of that time. You can't go wrong with Georgette Heyer.

Very entertaining as always.

This novel is a captivating romantic drama that resonates deeply, thanks to its flawless narration. The storyline is so expertly crafted and the characters so well-developed that you'll be completely absorbed from beginning to end. Much like the dramatic changes in Elinor's life, my interest in the story grew with every turn of the page. It's a truly enjoyable read, offering a simple yet effective plot that proves a great story doesn't need to be complicated to be compelling.

Another Gem!!!
