Publisher's Summary

How did companies, both large and small, in different countries and industries, all achieve breakthrough performances when the odds were stacked against them? How did an engineer turned CEO transform his New Zealand steelmaking company around in one year and become a leader in the industry? How did a 600-person team, within the largest petroleum company in Brazil, overcome skepticism and dysfunctional dynamics to achieve the biggest process integration success in history? How did a major Japanese housing manufacturer thrive despite the worst economy in a generation? How did a South African platinum mine improve its safety performance by 57 percent in one year? All of these results were possible because people applied The Three Laws of Performance and rewrote their futures.

This audiobook will show you how to do the same in your organization and your life. Although most of us aren't aware of it, we have a future that's already been written. Our future is written by hopes, fears, dreams, expectations, and decisions made about life. In the same way, organizations have futures written by history, circumstances, culture, aspirations, successes, and failures. These already-written futures determine and shape the level of performance that's possible for individuals and organizations. Authors Steve Zaffron and Dave Logan crack the code on rewriting the future for people and organizations, elevating performance to unprecedented levels.

Clarity, Peace of Mind & Actionable work,

I have been searching for the best way to do things for most of my life. Going through the "struggles of everyday life." After reading this thier are no more struggles. Just a new view on how the world occurs to me as a result of how I choose to see it. I thought I was a man of high integrity, with principles and values, and no one would question this. I found that I was out of integrity to my word with myself. I had never heard it like that before. You have it or you don't was my world. Thier was no compassion. Just get it done. What I got is that integrity isn't an all the time thing. It is an in or out fluid kind of thing and just becuase I cannot keep my word does not mean that I cannot honor it and then restore my ingrity. All without the stress and anxiety that used to come with it. Now being wrong really is an opportunity for growth, not just some cliche I use in my office. It is my hope and sincerest desire that the world take on the technology in this book. It started with me.
I am going to continue it with coaching from Landmark Education, and grow for real this time. Not just as a person, but as a soul or life force that exist within the community of the world. No barriers or descriptors will stop me from being relatable to people.

INSIGHTFUL; POWERFUL; LEADING EDGE

No formulas here, just principles which if followed will make a profound difference in unleashing the power, spirit and creativity of your organization. I know - I've used them. But could never articulate those principles with the clarity Steve and Dave have.

Love the book. Have given it to all my clients and have audio and hard copy for myself. Better than "Good to Great".

Profound!

What really impressed me with this book is the simplicity and practical application of these laws in any area of life. These laws when practiced have the power to bring about transformation on a global level because true change will come when our choices come from a space of nothing. I have listened to this book three times and each time something new has opened up for me that has got me JAZZED about new possibilities for my business and life that I never saw before. WOW! LISTEN or read, APPLY and share the these laws and your world will change in ways that will inspire and transform the world around you!!!

Lost me at the 'hand shadowing' exercises

I finished this book yesterday ... and I can't tell you what the "three laws" are. Not much practical advice here other than examining what life path you are on. It's kind of like a Chicken Soup book. I did like their business examples, though ... they were unique and not the examples other authors keep rehashing (i.e. I'm getting tired of hearing about Zappos). Also, great reader!

Meh, Wordy, Overthought - a few Good Thoughts

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Made it more readable. Very Herky-Jerky both with it's timeline and thought process. It would have been nice, for example, if they had clearly stated the 3 laws; they NEVER did, not once. I was always loosely described in a sentence and differently each time.

Would you recommend The Three Laws of Performance to your friends? Why or why not?

Maybe, if I thought they weren't in touch with reality.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

Loosened up. Very rigid, sounds like he's reading it for the first time. I have this problem with a lot of Audible Narrators. You wouldn't think it'd be that hard to get someone to just read a book nice and evenly.

Could you see The Three Laws of Performance being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Dear god, no, unless they were trying to anesthetize the audience.

Language, integrity and performance

Would you listen to The Three Laws of Performance again? Why?

I am listening to the book a third time - it is a book to target learning and living/practicing, not only reading or listening.

Any additional comments?

The ideas have allowed me to see and hear differently, with greater power for guidance, communication and leadership.

Non-Scientific

Reads like an info commercial. I fact checked some examples to see how the companies are doing now. Not so well. I am a guy who likes imperial proof, -measureable resaults, -the use of scientific method. So for me, it was more just a lot of mumbo jumbo.

However, it was well read.

Powerful success principles

Though the narrator American tone can be off putting at the start, once you get used to it you will enjoy and learn a lot from this audio book. I have made many breakthroughs thanks to the Landmark Education which are based on the distinctions explained in this book. I recommend you listen to this audio and read the book after attending the landmark seminar.

Brilliant Book

I have the book and audio book. I review it every few years. The laws and concepts will challenge many looking for a quick fix, survival strategy , manipulation strategy or applied formula.

This book talks about taking performance to the next level and the clutter and noise of the uncommunicated that stops performance. And what you need to do to make the space to create.

From experience, if you truly take this on, your performance with a team where you apply these with integrity is an amazing and efficient experience.

Spoiler: The three laws aren't laws

The laws are stated as axioms but no evidence is given in support of them apart from anecdotes. This is a philosophy book at heart

A walk through performance

First the narrator voice is excellent and pleasant
second the content of the book is inspiring and gripping.
